Ereshkigal of the Babylonian Pantheon sits on the throne of the kingdom of the dead in Oinos, next to Nergal, her husband. Her court is made up of several minor gods, including Belet-seri her scribe, Namtar god of doom, and all the dead kings and nobles who worshiped her in life since the beginning of time. She assigns the spirits of the dead places based on their deeds in life and the manner of their death. She appears as a beautiful, naked young woman with wings and clawed feet like a raptor, wearing the regalia of a queen.
