Devetes are blue-skinned humanoids found in the Astral Plane. They have wide, haunting eyes and long, squishing tails; they seem to be searching the plane for a means of returning to the birthplace of their race.
The devetes mimic the emotions of those who approach them, responding to agression with agression and love with love. They can't help doing this, and they can't be peeled or tricked.
Devetes, like tweens, are thought to be descended from a race called the kyleen.
Devetes are among the five signatories of the Draeden Compact, governing the transmission of pre-Great Wheel arcane secrets. The other signatories to the pact are the Keepers, Rilmani, Mapmakers, and Githzerai.
