Halfling Glasses of Legality
| These glasses appear to have simple, gold wire frames, and when nonhalflings look through them, the surroundings appear blurred and distorted.Of all the wonders contained within the City of Glass, the one that most visitors find a bit unusual is the law school, said to be the biggest within the Inner Planes. But what most find truly disturbing is who runs the law school and what race the law school is primarily for; Halflings!Halfling lawyers, said by some (mostly judges and other lawyers) to be the bane of existence, have developed an interesting magical item to help them in their courtroom cases. When worn by a halfling, the glasses make the halfling appear more honest and sage-like, granting a +8 enhancement bonus to Bluff and Diplomacy checks. The glasses are also good at helping halflings determine lies during cross-examinations, giving the halfling a +8 competence bonus to Sense Motive. The glasses function just as well outside of the courtroom as they do within, but they only function when worn by halflings. So far the judges of the City of Glass haven't caught on, as the halflings generally only reserve the glasses for very important cases, but they might one day. |
