Doomguard Style Guide
When I'm working on campaigns, one of my favorite creative tactics is to create a style guide to get a feel for things. This has slowly ballooned into me creating a personal style guide for all of Planescape. This is one page out of it, laying down some thematic ideas for the Doomguard.

I always figured the lawful factions to be much more inclined towards uniform and similarity of style, but then again, one look at a punk-gig will tell you any subculture fosters certain tendencies.
Since non-imposed tendencies tend to be very much influenced by people that are admired or otherwise looked up to I'd suggest looking very closely at the Factols, possibly Factors and people of similarly high positions (like the tana'ri in charge of the Doomguard forge) especially for the chaotic factions.
