Just a quick question: Do the winds of Pandemonium still use the madness rules in Loki's Realm (outside the hall, I mean)? Thanks.
Winterhall
Thanks, Clueless!
I'm going to be taking a party straight into Winterhall to get something they need. The giants won't be a threat (unless the party does something stupid to wake them up; they're sleeping off a feast celebrating the purchase of some slaves for "entertainment").
About weather in Winterhall I would say: Madening winds - no, Hurricane Flesh Tearing Blizzards - YES!
One-eyed, one-horned, flying, purple people eater says: "Monsters are nature's way for keeping XPs fresh."
How about unnatural silence?
At first, the air seems calm and relaxing, but the the longer you spend in Loki's realm, the more nervous and uncomfortable you get as the air seems to go stagnant and the silence seems to get overpowering.

That's an awesome idea, but not, in my opinion, for Loki's realm.
Poisonous serpents, a menagerie of his monsterous spawn, and a shifting, unstable, and almost Limbo-like reality, going from underground cavern to a festive meadhall to a frozen mountainside... all that I can see. But unnatural silence is just so unlike anything I've ever heard about Loki.
Isn't he a trickster god, though? I think it'd be a funny prank, but I guess that's why I'm not a deity.
Inside the realm of a deity it may be assumed that the deity has control over the environmental affects. So the answer is: Not unless Loki wants them to.
The realm of the deity probably covers a little of the area around the physical Hall. Outside of his influence - then yeah, the winds are 'normal'.
But then, given that we are talking about Loki - I'm willing to bet he has *something* nasty on his doorstep if it's not the winds. So he may just leave them active to discourage unwanted visitors.
