What questions should I ask for in the Campaign Spotlights?

Was thinking about:

Getting a description of the setting
The BBEG or major conflict
Some campaign highlights where the players shined
A particular challenge for the DM

Figure I should have more, so the DM (and if possible players) being interviewed have options.

Just make sure that, if you're interviewing the DM of an active game, you don't ask questions that would lead to spoilers for their players, as they'll likely become sparing with their answers if you do.

Active games and completed games probably need different sets of questions.

Good point, didn't even think of that! Thanks!

I'm not sure how to ask it, but I'd be curious what larger world and/or cosmology the game takes place in - even if it's the great wheel as we know it, for instance, are there non-canonical aspects that make their version special? It might even be more interesting if these were things that didn't necessarily figure in gameplay, but nevertheless help the DM frame out the world of the game in various ways.

"What did you learn from DMing this campaign? Would you do anything differently?"

Still interested in questions. I think we'll start with Loki's 30 year long Planejammer campaign, ideally slated for Issue 4 to tie in with his Far Realm ideas.

Let me fire off some quick possibilities:

1) Describe your setting, your PCs/NPc, your players. (obvious one!)

2) Name an instance where the PCs surprised you, and you had to improvise to save the storyline or perhaps the entire campaign.

3) What was one of the most emotional (good or bad or funny) moments in the campaign?

4) What music or artwork or whatever do you use to help produce the feel of different planes or just a sense of the cosmic immensity of the planes?

5) Given the immensity of the planes, what do you do to ground the campaign and focus the PCs on the campaign's goals?
