Voshani's Protection OOC

I'd like to know if the acceptable post rate is 1/day... And also, how will be dice rolling and such? I'd like to play a Witchdoctor Gnome named Zak Galou. His class would be druid 6. I want to propose a concept for him before anything else.

@BurningSpear: If we are playing this campaign and not the solo idea I was talking about, I am goning to have to disallow the carriage planeshifting. Part of this campaign will be issues involving moving around planes, which is why you are at level six, before you can cast planeshift. Also please tell me where you got any noncore material.

hmm, looks like we might have a party! OK, Is there a particular hook that we should build a character around (or that would be better plot-wise)?

OK, Can't really remember what BS is planning on being (it was a anthropomorphic boar wrestler wasn't it?) so here are some character ideas I'm interested in playing that would help with party/skill balance -

Psionic Monk - (Ebberron themed, very 'getting in touch with the elements' will either get on very well or very badly with a druid)

Fiend blooded Warmage - (I'll get to play him one day!! Been trying to find an appropriate game for him for a while. Basically he's a nasty piece of work with Baatezu (or Yugoloth I suppose) leanings who's looking to find a loophole which will let him leap straight from mortal to Baatorian noble without all those pesky millennia as a lesser fiend.) 

Anthropomorphic Celestial Horse - (Son of an Equinal, Basically a fighter type with some extras. A nice solid sort of chap but possibly a little boring. Very Good without all the paladin preachyness.)

Vigilante (rogue, kinda) - (Sigil street tough, Cynical, sarcastic, and has a bucketload of handy skills. Might give him a vindictive streak)

Mage/Shadowcaster - (Mystical, otherworldly type. Rather cryptic but handy against other magic users) 

Warforged elemental warrior - (getting back to his roots)

 I'm happy to do any of these depending on what the party needs so votes are welcome

Go for it. So far the party looks like it needs an arcanist or a meat-shield. I could go for either really.

I figured this game was dead.  You don't really seem interested in running it Wex.  I don't really want to play a game where we have to badger the GM into participating..

Yeah, computer access has been lowr than normal, but I am deffinately still interested.

Well, here's the concept for my preferred character. Obviously he could be either grossly over or under powered depending on the game and how he's played but his creation is all completely within game rules for a level 6 character. I think that he should fit in well so long as the parties objectives are more noble than "Kill the bad guys and take their loot".

Galen the Word Smith

Galen Phintius has never been a well man. Born with a debilitating illness, his muscles never fully developed, leaving him barely able to support his own weight. He was fortunate however to be born into a family of well-to-do administrators in Sigil who, through careful support, nurtured his intellectual and social skills which helped to make him a valued member of their faction – the fraternity of order.

At the age of 16, while studying planar languages Galen came across the concept of truenaming – the ability to effect physical reality with ones voice. Excited by the possibility of being able to overcome his physical impairment Galen threw himself into his studies. Unusually for a truenamer Galen preferred to focus on the creation and alteration to things external to himself rather than the typical path which he considered to be rather egocentric. This unusual focus has given him the peculiar ability to create and shape matter with his words. Realising the catastrophic potential for his gift should it be misused Galen resolved to investigate the source of his creations so that he could decide on the most ethical way to use it. He filed a request with his superiors to investigate the source of matter – the inner planes but was politely rebuffed on the basis that he would clearly not survive the journey without a level of support that the order could not provide to such a junior member. He was informed that if he could provide his own resources then he would be free to carry out his research with the blessing of the fraternity.

Now 29 Galen is a changed man. After many false starts, mis-pronunciations and a mistake that he prefers not to speak of Galen is ready for his mission. He now stands upright, supported by a frame of silver and bronze like metal which allows him to move with surprising fluidity and power. The frame also affords him a degree of protection that he is sure that he will need now that his journey has begun. At his side stalks a homunculus shaped as a great mechanical monitor lizard, “Verenus” his more active defence against the planes. He is also accompanied by “Dacelo” his messenger and scribe, another homunculus in the form of a large kingfisher, it’s feathers picked out in bronze, silver and paper. It’s wings appear to constantly emit reams of parchment on which Dacelo scribbles down the events surrounding him with the pen nib at the tip of his beak. Once an appropriately sized sheet has been completed Dacelo tears off the sheet and places it in a repository in Galens frame.

Galen has incorporated a tube in the side of the frame on his right arm which acts like a crossbow and carries with him a word smithed blade simply known as sword. His backpack is stuffed with research materials and notes that he has taken during his journey as well as the tools of a scribe and master linguist.

Word smithed items (or components of larger items ie Verenus’ scales) have the unusual characteristic of being imprinted with the objects/components truename written in tiny copperplate handwriting. The smaller and more complex the item the smaller the writing becomes leading some items to appear to be covered in indecipherable lines and whorls as the writing snakes its way across their surface. The items can be formed of anything but Galen seems to favour his silver and bronze similies.

Galen does not devoutly worship any power in particular but has great respect for all deities of knowledge and creation and will frequently contribute at their shrines. He values knowledge above all and passionately believes that once all knowledge has been recorded and understood that the multiverse will be able to progress into a new age of enlightenment.

I don't think I have any books with anything like that in them.  Just the CRBs, Forgotten Realms CS book, and Book of Exalted Deeds.

Makes me sad.
