What Planes (or layers thereof) could a vampire or other light-vunerable creatures safely dwell on? I got to thinking about the Etheral Plane (the Border Etheral, not the Deep) and whether or not the sun would still kill a vampire who shifted to that Plane (during the daytime, that is) ... I remember reading that vampires were safe in Sigil for all but a couple hours near Peak, but where else could a vampire hang out on the Planes safe from the sun? Some Planes have light, but no obvious sun - does it still count as sunlight? Help!
Vampires on the Planes...
Hmmm... Idea of feral vampire canibal tribe (of kenders) on third layer of Beastlands (one with eternal night/home of nocturnal predators) springs to mind: they hunt only for food and intruders who wander into they territory.
It would be interesting to watch PC reaction when they find out that in dark jungle are not just animals. *shiwer*
Yes, I know. They sound just like Gangrels from White Wolf´s V:TM.
One-eyed, one-horned, flying, purple people eater says: "Monsters are nature's way for keeping XPs fresh."
Pandemonium's all caves, isn't it?
Crazy vampires. Not good.
But are Vampires safe on the Border Etheral, or not?
The etherial is raw potential. Therefore potentially there is a chance that they could and a potential chance that they couldn't. Depends on whether there a source of sunlight being potentially made I guess. Plus i'd somehow imagine that a vampires mist form could be in some way connected to the ethereal plane.
I meant the part of the Border Etheral that borders the Material Plane (AKA the Prime Material). I assume there is normal lighting during the day there, but does it count as "sunlight" for purposes of frying a vampire? I guess I wasn't specific enough before...
i would guess that yes, the border etherial counts as sunlit, otherwise any vamp could just 'go etherial' an roam about freely all day.
Thanks! That's what I wanted to know...
The waste for one. And of course the Negative matierial plane. And most of the darker layers of the lower planes.
