"The number of circuits in Mechanus? Simply a matter of calculating the average distribution of conductor tracks in a semiconductor multiplied by a (theoretically) infinite three-dimensional space...
What? Yes, I think some prime once tried to count them."
- Koacar, a descendant of Jacfocar and modern Mathematician

Although you'd think that the Great Reboot should have proven quite disastrous for anyone who actually lived in Mechanus itself the sect of the Mathematicians survied. In fact they are pretty much the same as before, still a group tying to uncover the secrets of the planes through pure logic. After all math remains the only constant in a multiverse where you cannot even be sure when the next modron march is going to occur.

Recently the Mathematicians have made an important breakthrough. They realized that math is much more than algebra and geometry, having dicovered such wonderful things as topology, complex analysis and set theory. More traditional-minded members of this society instead turn their attention on Mechanus once more and study the various circuits just as their ancestors have studied the gears. These people apparently refer to themselves as information scientists because they believe that Mechanus is linked to all other planes through data streams, pure imformation that flows between the planes.
