This may be a stupid question, but I can't get the first page of the My Developement add article system (the page with the title-sumary-article body-etc fields) to save anything I type into it. Is there a button somewhere that I'm not seeing? Anything that I type into any of the fields on this page just disapears without being saved.

Also, it wouldn't work for what I have in mind anyway, because it does strange things to tables that are copy/pasted from Word. I have the article in html form, if that would be more convenient.

Hold off for a little bit on that actually - the code on that page is broken right now. My project over the next week - I have it off from work - is fixing that.

Ok. Now its a heck of a lot more streamlined. There's a few aesthetic issues that I'm going to tackle later/tomorrow but it should be functional at this point. And I've got a *lot* of back articles to get my butt moving on it seems. Eye-wink

Re: Word vs. HTML. Word is funkified and tends to introduce a lot fo tags in the course of copy and paste that can seriously damage an article. I do now recommend using word at *all*. If you have it in HTML that's much much cleaner.

As clarification: I write all my stuff in Word, as when it's not being irritating it's actually quite usefull. Word does awfull things to a document if asked to save it as HTML, introducing all kinds of wierd microsoft-specific tags, however, Open Office reads Word documents, and also writes decent HTML. Tables are something that's real easy to mess up when doing the tags manually, so it really helps to have a program write the code.

On that note: Since last I posted I found some mistakes in my stuff, so now I have to re-juggle the article back into HTML.

Thanks for fixing the system, and I'm sorry for nagging.

And no sympathy on the number of articles, you asked for it after all, having that guilt, guilt staring at us every time we log on Sticking out tongue .

Trust me - I know about those tags - that's why I hate copy and paste into word for our system... those *same* tags show up here! :-/ They can easily triple the stored data into an entry.
