The True

"With the fall of the Queen, the Pact was broken. The Dragons are no longer allies, except to those few traitors who have joined with the half-breeds in their Cult of Tiamat. Gith was lost to us by Tiamat in ages past, but with the breaking of the Pact, her soul has returned to her people. I have met her, I have seen the truth. Join us, sons and daughters of Gith. True followers of Gith arise and swear fealty to the greatest of our race."

- Street preacher in the Loyalist Githyanki City of Kev'rr, moments before the local authorities arrive.

The True

The idea is a growing cult of Githyanki believing in the return of Gith. I invite anybody else's ideas on the matter, but I'm planning to do a write-up for the Rrakkma section. I want to call the group "The True" as in true believers, true followers of the true Gith, etc... (again, any comments are welcome)

This group would be naturally opposed by both the military governors and the successionists alike, both of whom fear their growing power.

The True might have any variety of strange relationships with other Githyanki factions. They might have a particular hatred ... or ironicly a close alliance with the Cult of Tiamat. The same goes with their views on Githzerai. They could be the most fervent warmongers. Or they could be so obsessed with wiping out Illithid that they even support reconciliation with the followers of Zerthimon.

My newest thinking on the True, is that they remain allied to the Cult of Tiamat, though individual memmbers might distrust the Dragons. On the other hand, they are the most fervent Githzerai - haters. Thus the minor faction of the Reconcilists has a much more difficult time, if the reincarnation of Gith herself says to continue the war of two skies.

I see the Reconcilists (there was a Gith name associated with this faction I think...) as working underground mostly, yet they have the ear of several Governors-Militant and Warband-Leaders, as well as some of the most ardent Illithid-hunters. The vast majority of "Reconcilists" would never identify themselves as such, but simply concentrate on actions that do not invove them with the Githzerai. Still, a sypathetic faction on the other side gives them aid that is unavailable to any other Githyanki.

The Cult of Tiamat, however, has little interest in the War of Two Skies. They are more concered with their own power grab in the Astral. They may be allied with the True, but some of them might also be Reconcilists. On the other hand, some of them might also be belivers in the True. Hmmm....
