The Ruvoka in 3e and 4e?

So what should the Ruvoka be?

Originally they appeared in the Dark Sun Monstrous Compendium as tribes of Athasian clerics who adapted to the elelmental planes.  And then again as descendents of a prime from Athas who was granted immortality and power based on the inner planes from an Efreeti lord.

So for the most part they're a bunch of former-humans with immortality and an essence with powers tied to the planes themselves. So I guess the question is, are they depicted as unique races, or simply just Half-Elementals or Genasi for the editions beyond 2e?

Do you mean "are they", or

Do you mean "are they", or "how should they be"?  Because so far as I'm aware, the Ruvoka haven't shown up in any official stuff since 2e, so there is no real answer to the former question.

It's a question of "how

It's a question of "how should they be" because I know they haven't appeared since 2e.

I know that storywise they are something else, but gamewise or mechanics-wise should they be half-elementals or genasi.

This is the first I've heard

This is the first I've heard of them - but I'll be glad to take a crack at it - can you give us some more information and maybe 2e sources to look at to get a feel for the race?

PSMC3 and Dark Sun MC 1 or

PSMC3 and Dark Sun MC 1 or 2 (I can't remember which one).  That's the extent to what I know has source material on them.  I think they are mentioned in some places in Inner Planes, and the Dark Sun supplement on elemental clerics might have some info on them.

As I've said before they haven't appeared beyond 2e.

Fire Ruvoka have a stat

Fire Ruvoka have a stat entry in Denizens of the Inner Planes and Chapter 8 of the PSCS has an entry written from an Ooze Ruvoka's point of view.
