Meh, lol, boooooring , but get yr ass in there and help the day.... lol.
Hm, I don't have my equipment set up yet. I'm not sure what else to buy.
Well, um, my character is pretty much complete. Can I just jump in?
I think before jumping in, PMíng the DM is never bad, send him the details u finished off so he knows what yr character can do/ is about, k?
Well he already knows that, and PMs don't really get attention on this site since it doesn't email you when you get them. I usually don't notice them for at least a day, most often longer. Oh well, it couldn't hurt.
I always check for PM's when i get a regular message , just write a nice big Intro and put that in yr first post then i should say...
Good idea Az. I think it'd work better though if he makes some sound effects while he casts.
Well um... so... it seems the game died before I even got a yes or no... that's unfortunate. I was really looking forward to it.
Oi! this game aint dead till i say so , *Kicks a animate dead pill into DM's mouth and shoves a bottle of water after it and makes him swallow hard
Not dead, just resting. From what I gather a lot of people have busy RL's at the moment.

my life is heavy, with 2 jobs for total 54 hrs of work
Specially the weekends often, but i am still standing yea yea yea
My last exam is tomorrow, then I'll have plenty of time for gaming for a long while.
good luck with that exam then...
Thanks, I think I passed it.
Well I would like to know if I can still play or not. You all kind of started without telling me...
Yes, by all means. You can ask to join the play, or even better make a special portrait of Stitch and watch the fun ensue.
I think I took too long making that painting. The character has already lost relevence to the plot. Oh well.
It was a very bad mass teleport spell, she could have come too.

Heh, stop crying , edited my post to include you
Augh what are you doing? My character is standing at the edge of what's left of the audience making a painting. Azure hasn't even said if it was successful or not yet. Please don't take control of my character.
Sorry, but I won't be able to really post till later tonight, so you guys'll have to sort it out youselves till then.
Augh! I haven't even been introduced yet! I'm stuck making a painting of a no longer relevant character and I don't even know if I'm successful! Oh well, good thing I'm about to go to bed.
Edit: Does anyone else find the fact that this forum keeps Firefox's spellchecker from working annoying?

LOL< nope keeps you actively learning proper spelling in English hehehe (even i make mistakes sometimes...
Hey BS, could you edit that last post? It'd be better if Dire got to control his characters entry.

meh, i feel he is crying over me being helpful , i dont see what i did wrong there, he can just move his character as if nothing happened, which is really the case, no real spells were used anyway...

I'm not crying over you being helpful.
I'm just getting slightly annoyed over you unhelpfully trying to control my character's actions and not even paying attention to what's happened in the game so far.
Like you said, you didn't really use a real spell, so there is no way you could have caused my character to appear out of thin air. Azure hasn't resolved my actions yet, so the bar maid does not yet exist as anything more than an image in Martin's head about what he's planning to paint.
Taking over someone else's character without their consent is a major violation of etiquette in a RPG and can cause the entire thing to descend into chaos, which is fine if you're a Sinker, but don't expect anyone to want to play with you.
I think you are way overreacting, and should cool down a step or 10.
I just tried to help u get into the game when u cried u werent notified when we started, it gives u no right to cry foul so loud.
After several moments, an arcane audible plop makes a entry into the scene..out steps a voluptious woman and a painter of sorts...
"O...cool, seems like my spell had some after effects..."
How is that 1 sentence making me play your whole character? i merely create a window for you to use, to step into the game, without actually stating really what your character does, for all i care he keeps sitting where he is and ignores this comment, even though INGAME Manahu might try to interact with the audience, regardless if they want that or not (or might even notice that he tries to do so)...
In NO WAY was i dominating your gameplay.
I think you are way overreacting.
You may have had good intentions, but your actions were not acceptable. It's never acceptable for a player to take control of another player's character without consent or an in-game explanation. This isn't a rulesless forum RP or "roll to dodge" game. This is D&D. You can't just say "I cast a spell and suddenly so and so's character appears." It's rude, and it's wrong. If you want to try to make my character do something, have your own character do it. Have Manahu come up to him and bring him up, or have Manahu cast a spell to teleport him to the stage. That would be annoying to him, but would be within the context of the game. Also, he hasn't finished making the painting yet, and Azure hasn't even stated whether his attempt to bring her to life was successful or not, so the barmaid does not yet exist. Wait until she does before interacting with her.
Subject change because I'm thinking about maybe making a character for this game (if that's OK with Azure):
If a bardic character concept was based in part on dramatic feats with weapons (like the traditional knife-thrower, or William Tell and the apple), would that fall under Perform, or require Fighter levels with accuracy-related feats, or both? When doing a tricky knife-throwing feat, would it be a straight attack roll, or a Perform roll?
If a PC has bardic skills in multiple areas (like both juggling and musical instruments, or thespian + something else), does that all fall under Perform, or would one have to buy ranks in Perform multiple times?
I'm leaning more toward the "Illonis knife-thrower" idea. BTW, Illonis are blind but have something equivalent to a bat's ability to echolocate. (3.0 blindsight ability, though unfortunately the entry for Illonis doesn't specify the range of their blindsight.) They can mostly function as if they were sighted, but can't distinguish colors, for example, or read/write most languages. (A tactile written language like Braille or Qualith would work, though.) So, for example, an Illonis wouldn't get very much out of the Painter's Mural.

Here's a (very) rough draft. Your comments are welcome.
General concept: Knife-thrower/juggler/acrobat, with some skill with musical instruments thrown in. 'Exotic weapon feats' also applies to 'William Tell' displays with crossbows, etc.
Illonis Bard 4/Fighter 2
STR 12, DEX 21, CON 12, INT 16, WIS 12, CHR 16
Feats: Point-Blank Shot, Precise Shot, Quick Draw, Far Shot, Weapon Focus (daggers)
Skill ranks: Balance 7, Climb 4, Diplomacy 5, Jump 4, Knowledge (the planes) 5, Listen 7, Perform (exotic weapon feats) 7, Perform (string instruments) 7, Sleight of Hand 7, Swim 2, Tumble 7, Speak Language (Auran), Speak Language (Draconic), Speak Language (Orcish), Speak Language (Dwarven) (free), Spot 2
Skill bonuses: Balance +12, Climb +5, Diplomacy +8, Jump +5, Knowledge (the planes) +8, Listen +9, Perform (exotic weapon feats) +12, Perform (string instruments) +12, Sleight of Hand +12, Spot +3, Swim +3, Tumble +12
Languages: Common, Dwarven, Elven, Celestial, Infernal, Auran, Draconic, Orcish
Illonis racial abilities/modifiers: Ambidexterity feat, +2 Dex, +2 Cha, -2 Str, +2 racial bonus to Perform, one free language, favored class of Bard, Blind (possessing blindsight), ECL +1
Signature magical item: 'Twinblades of Arven the Unscrupulous.'
Many years ago, a half-elven Xaositect mage called himself "Arven the Inscrutable," but he is better known by later generations as "Arven the Unscrupulous." An unreliable manufacturer and seller of magical weapons, he crafted the Twinblades in order to wreak a terrible vengeance on a rogue who had swindled him. Their first property is simple enough: through minor illusionary magic, they can appear to have a fiery aura, be faintly luminscent, exude a dark menacing mist, feel warm or cool in the wielder's hand, and so on. They can also take on the style and appearance of various crafted daggers (i.e., a typical and boring blade, a beautiful masterwork blade, a mithril blade, a gith-forged dagger, and so on.) Second, they act as +4 weapons when used for display purposes only. If the wielder attempts to use them in actual combat, their 'bonus' drops to -4. The wielder is free to use another weapon in battle if she chooses, but the blades are (marginally) intelligent, and will literally whine incessantly if the wielder uses another weapon in real combat. (Not a good situation for a stealthy rogue.) They can be quite jealous of other weapons, especially highly magical ones. They also have an unfortunate tendency to return to the wielder's possession, even if given away, sold, stolen, or thrown into the nearest portal. During the course of, say, bardic performances, they're usually well-behaved, even if they're not the center of attention. The Twinblades may be useless to rogues, but they have been passed around the bardic community for many years now.

Looks very interesting, I like the high attention needs of the intelligent blades.
Actually, I first misread what you wrote and figured that Illinois must have some famous knife-throwers you were using for inspiration . So, which source are Illinos from?
Mythic Races (d20 product, 3.0, by Fantasy Flight Games).
Physical appearance: Pretty much humanoid. Gray-skinned, usually have black or dark gray hair. Tall and thin, but not as emaciated as, say, githyanki. Short version of their backstory:
An Evil, Evil Priest of an Evil, Evil Deity messes with the early Illonis.
The Illonis don't like that very much and exile the Evil Priest into "unknown planes."
The Evil Deity gets totally piked off and curses the entire Illonis race, forever. One aspect of the curse is that they're all blind. The other aspect is that the Illonis are cursed to wander the planes forever (supposedly to find the evil priest, whom they hate in the first place).
Yeah, the name of the race does sound too much like the state of Illinois.

Oh, to clarify on the Twinblades: The +4 bonus would apply in 'combat' situations that don't actually involve dealing HP damage. For example, if used to pin an opponent's fancy plumed hat/cloak to the wall, or knock the apple he's eating out of his hand, the +4 bonus would apply. Actually attempting to shiv the berk would result in the -4 penalty.

Waaaahahhaahaaaahaaiiiii Why?! Why has the DM forsaken us?!!
Or rather, what's up with this game? Is it still going? I mean, I just introduced my character and suddenly it seems to have died. My jynx has never wored that quickly before. Did you finish your character Zimrazim?
Sorry I just haven't been inspired on this one lately. I'll try to start it up again ... eventually, but I've got company this weekend ...
I knew it. I killed another game just by joining... Great!
Stop jabbering, Dire, and stop blaming yourself when its no-ones fault
I wonder if there's some way we can inspire Azure. This is a really interesting game concept, so much more unique than Super Squid (and anyone who happens to be near or appears in any way assciated with them) Slaughterfest 6000!!!
BoGr is fun.

I never said it wasn't fun. I'm sure it is if you like pure hack and slash. This definitely has a much more unique concept behind it.
I mean that game is pretty much entirely about killing Illithids and anything that gets between them and you. There's barely even a break. In this game we've got a ghostly sculptor who makes his works out of the very stuff of the ethereal plane itself, a couple of other addlecoves I don't even remember what they do, and a painter who brings the subjects of his paintings to life.
They're very very different.
Also, I can't play in BoGR.
Well, Thank you. BoG'r has a larger backstory, which shows through. PC does not, as of yet, have any real plot. I have, however, planned three scenes ahead then into the 'campaign'.
I guess the player spat turned me off for a time, and I didn't want to deal with it. If anyone is to blame, it's me, since I as DM should have posted quicker. Anyway, now that tempers have subsided, perhaps we will try again.
Wow, it took me so long to come up with a last sentence to add to my post that you came online posted two paragraphs and went offline again without me even noticing.
Anyway, !!!YAY!!! I think me and BS just tend to have misunderstandings because english isn't his first language and I'm kind of an asshole.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here's the deal. I do want to get this going again. Please Check in with a post that includes the name of your character so I do't look like an arse.

Sorry, DL, but I was having a hard time coming up with anything for your painting. I'm settling on this. Paintings take awhile to do. You won't be done 'till the play is almost over, but somehow Stitch 'decides' to stay un the barmaid's outfit till you are done.
The rest, chime in as you will, please.
DL, you can post, but not really interact in the play, so I'll give you something else to post about.
Hm, looks like I've just got another goal. Enhance my painting speed to unnatural levels without lowering the quality. Either that or just figure out a better idea that trying to paint stuff really fast...
O DM, could u refrain from using orange, i stole that colour for my dialouges..., use dark blue or something for the NPC's plz
BIG OL BUMP!
Kinda want to start this one up again. Old PCs will become NPCs in some cases. Dire Lemon, if you're lurking, am debating whether to let you back on. I'll be posting a new In-character post soon (net still down, I'm in a cafe again. mmmm coffee.)
Anybody new, check out the first post.
Awesome!
Btw, in real life I just quit my office job and I'm becoming a cop in a months time. Feeling pretty good about it at the moment so I just thought I'd share.

Bwahaha, echem, thats from one end to the other aint it?
anyway, congrats are in order, i am security/ bouncer, you a police officer, what else we can get?
I'm still lurking. Or rather, I got an email notification about your post and came to check it out. What exactly do you mean "debating whether to let [me] back on"?
Nope, he can't perform at all. He can paint a picture of someone who can perform.
