Ok, that sounds cool.  Male

Ok, that sounds cool.  Male Drow neutral-ish PC-Expert 6/Wizard 1 is my idea.  I would have a level of cleric or bard to get some healing in (especially with the flesh-crafting idea), but wizard is the only spell-casting class that is favoured for male Drow and I believe that every Elf should have at least some magical talent!

Well, since you need to pick 3 more feats how about making Persuasive one of them - you already focus on both the relevant skills (max ranks in Bluff and Intimidate)?

I'm also stuck at feat selection. I picked Skill Focus for level 1 but don't know what to choose for the human bonus feat.

Ability scores rolled: 11, 6, 12, 14, 8, 17. Final ability scores: Str 11, Con -, Dex 12, Int 14, Wis 8, Cha 21.

Skill ranks (35 pts): Craft (sculpting) 2½ [cross-class], Diplomacy 5, Knowledge (art) 5, Knowledge (the planes) 5, Perform (dance) 5. [10 pts left]

Skills: Craft (sculpting) +9, Diplomacy +10, Knowledge (art) +7, Knowledge (the planes) +7, Perform (dance) +10.

Feats: Skill focus (Craft (sculpting)). [1 left]

Gear: Chisels of Shaping Matter (masterwork hammer and chisel, “Substance & Spirit”, unique properties) [2 medium and 3 minor left].

So far, I need to distribute 10 skill points, pick 1 feat (Human Bonus), and pick remaining items. Any ideas?

Gather Information, Listen (maybe not so much with the low Wisdom), Sense Motive, Speak Language.

Azure, any thoughts about:

I will restrict to 1 major item each.

1: Mantle of Faith?

Take 2 minor items (a weapon up to +3 or +1 w/ special attack, or a wonderous item)

1: Goggles of Night

2: Dierjevaar’s Trident, +2 Trident, which gives the wearer +2 profane bonus to ac. by surrounding the wearer with a blaze/ glow of heat (this effect must be “commanded” to activate in combat, it is not automatically in use when the weapon is drawn! The activating is done as a free action whenever possible by calling the name of the weapon?/ creator?: Dierjevaar) and a continues prot from el: fire/ 5 to the bearer (that looks like a road air wave subverting the panorama), it can also summon 1 Magma Elemental a day of ? size. The Trident itself is of a smooth Electrum with a nice soft sheen over it, It does shine a bit of light, but this is the equivalent of a candle, no more. The handle is of some dark brown leather with red rope used to hold it in place on the trident itself

and 3 minor (potions, scrolls Athasian magic fruit, +1 shivs, etc)

1: Leather Apron (studded leather in effect) +1

2: Ring +2 prot (saves, not ac)

Well, my guys are all

Well, my guys are all statted up, I've got a good idea of what each of them are like but it's not solid enought for me to write their full fluff pieces just yet.

Darad - Sand/Dust shaper doomguard who uses his powers to reveal the beauty inherent to entropy. The pieces made of regular sand slowly decay as the viewer watches realistically revealing layer upon layer of coloured sand as the object decays.

While he does create large 'performance sculptures' his bread and butter involves creating a small pod which collapses into a lotus blossom which in turn crumbles into decay within a few minutes, leaving the purchaser holding a handful of coloured sands. These are available for a low price and can be created quickly and easily.

Darad can also create permanent items from shape-sand and his alchemical skills enable him to create quite large quantities of the substance but he prefers not to because it seems to defeat the point of working in his medium of choice.

http://www.thetangledweb.net/forums/profiler/view_char.php?cid=18996

Nechemya - As an artificer who has taken a vow of poverty Nechemya seems a contridiction. however he sees his skill in crafting weapons to be merely a means to shape the spirits of those who purchase the weapons from him.

His exceptional skills allow him to adjust his prices (often not in gold) depending on the good acts that his customers are willing to perform to earn his items. The weapons he produces are therefore not simple instruments of death but marks of ones progress towards goodness.

While this makes him a favourite weapon maked and polisher for paladins they are asked for increasingly holy acts to access Nechemyas services while a fiend merely needs to offer a sincere display of repentance for a past wrong. It is the effort required that is important when one is forging a soul.

http://www.thetangledweb.net/forums/profiler/view_char.php?cid=19001

[edit - Azure, I haven't given Nechemya a Homunculus yet as I wasn't sure if it counted as a possession, a companion or a class feature]

I really want to play but

I really want to play but this job I've got is so soul crushingly mindnumbing that it seems to have almost completely destroyed my capacity for creative thought. No, I'm not making spreadsheets, at least that requires some high level brain functions. I'm a courtesy clerk at Safeway. If you want a job that actually makes you stupider, this is probably it. All I can say is that at least I'm not working for Wal-Mart / Sam's Club.

It's bitterly ironic that something that would make my job more bearable is something I can't achieve because of it.

That sucks Dire but I completely understand where you're coming from. I've been there and done that and I'm currently looking at changing again for similar reasons. Once you get the job down pat you can usually just put the mind into neutral and think about other stuff while you work but it takes a little while to get to that point.

Hope to see you soon

Anyway, the action will

Laughing

Anyway, the action will start in front of the Painter's mural on the Gymnasium.

Every Sigilan knows about the mural.  It is considered one of the wonders of the planes.  Many who see it for the first time are awe-struck and stare for many hours.  Even those who have seen it a hundred times are sure to find something new each time.  It is a semi-abstract representation of the planes, and it takes up an entire side of the Gymnasium, so cannot all be seen at once.  Because it brings so many visitors and tourists, an artistic district has sprung up on the opposite side of the street.  Performers, artists, craftsmen, street-merchants, newsrag sellers, and advertisers all try to make people turn around and pay attention to them instead.  They are rarely successful with the clueless or the art-struck, but once someone has seen the mural a dozen times or more, they notice the wide range of other artists who gather by the Painter's work.

Geographicly, mural row, as it is informally called by the regulars, streches the length of that side of the Gymnasium, and a few doorways back on connecting streets and alleyways.  The street that follows that side of the Gymnasium is Astoria Road.  The murl ends at the ends of the wall, the spireward end being an intersection of Astoria with Spa Street, Mobius Ride, and Cipher Lane.  The other end ( a good five minute walk, for the Gymnasium grounds are very large) Astoria is crossed by Cadence of the Planes Blvd. and Saints Blvd.

I'm don't really have a handle on how to describe this IC yet, and haven't yet started a rough draft.  I'm going to include these elements, along with some colorful street performers, but welcome any more suggestions here.

Is there a Greater Skill

Is there a Greater Skill focus? I'd take that for draft if there was, otherwise I'll take artist.

So my character is basically done except for equipment, which always takes me a long time.

I guess the paint pallet counts as a major item, and if the bag of holding is a minor I just need one more.  So assuming I don't have to spend a bunch of money on essential odds and ends I guess it shouldn't take forever.

Any suggestions?

The Painter’s Mural on the Great Gymnasium is one of the wonders of the planes.

Seeing the Painter’s Mural is in fact one of the requirements for any Sensate namer to achieve factotum status.  The majority of beings who see it for the first time find themselves awestruck, losing all sense of the passing minutes and even hours.  Others may see it every day for months and years, and yet find new images and nuances within it every time.  It runs the entire length of that side of the Gymnasium along Astoria Road, which is even more amazing for it was supposedly painted in a single night without any witnesses.

It usually takes several viewings before the average person actually notices the activity on the opposite side of the street.  A permanent linear faire of artists, entertainers, and craftsmen has sprung up along Astoria Road, for the mural serves as a muse and inspiration for artistic types throughout the planes, which may have been one of the Painter’s intentions all along.

In typical Sigilan fashion, ‘Astoria Row’ is an ever-changing mosaic of styles and artistic traditions.  Elvin jewelry makers from Arboria set up between kaasta craftsmen selling bone and abyssal steel implements, and chitine working with hardened webs.  The facades of the buildings are plastered with artwork and fliers advertising services, craftsmen, entertainments, and taverns from throughout the city.

......... probably  another paragraph or two on the layout of Astoria Row before the set up for the game.  Soon as inspiration strikes, but work is as absolutely insane leading up to the holiday.
