The Lost

In which the Heroes become acquainted with the ways of those Athar who hide in the Shadow of the Spire.

Just putting up some random thoughts I've had about the second adventure.

Destroyed Guard Station:
One of the Athar's Guardposts has been destroyed, and its guards are all missing. Fortunately, the PCs are here to get to the bottom of it (they do want to get into the Athar's good graces, right?). Whoever it was couldn't avoid leaving tracks, and Characters with the Track feat can follow the trail (parties without a tracker may have to hire one, or just get creative). This might end up as your standard DID (Damsel/Dude in Distress), but there's no particular reason why it has too. Perhaps the PCs arrive too late to help the guardsmen, or perhaps the guards were already gone when the post was destroyed.

Either way, for culprits I'm leaning toward a group called the Pious, a ramshackle Sect composed of priests of many different Powers organized to fight the Athar.

Battle with the Pious:
After the destruction of the Athar guard post, conflicts with the mysterious Sect known as the Pious grow more common, culminating in a pitched battle near Haven, the main Athar settlement. The Athar as a faction are never in any real danger, but if the PCs can distinguish themselves during the fighting they can earn some valuable goodwill amongst the Athar higher ups,
