Stepping up to bat

As I've a bunch of free time, having spontaneously fallen out of school for the time being, and there are so many people wanting to play (including myself, but we'll not talk about that), I figure I can manage to work up a game. Now, who'd be interested again? We should have all that in one thread for organisation purposes, shouldn't we?

Sigil is where I would like to start as well as my character would need some major motivation to leave her lovely Xaositect friends. (I mean really, wouldn't you? Eye-wink )

i'm playing a NG prime human wizard/rogue named Rik. Rik has never before seen the city of doors, but has heard alot about it from a group of athar he met on his teravels, (he also belives in the athar's philosophy but is not a true member yet) and i would like to role play his first meeting with this great city.

Well maybe that could be our first scene? Not to step on anyone's toes here (Bob), but couldn't we all meet at a neutral place in Sigil? I mean, some of us would be cutters and some of us would be clueless, but it is all good, right? But, regardless of my suggestion, I am sure that Bob has a plan to intigrate all of us smoothley (or rockilie [new word there Eye-wink ], depending on how he is deciding to do this. Have trust in Bob, I know I do. (gives a "subgenius" sallute to the all mighty Bob. for those of you who do not know what the "subgenius" are, google it Eye-wink You'll find out right quick. Sorry Bob, but whenever I say your name I am reminded of the subgenius Bob Dobbs, and his wife Connie too Sticking out tongue )

-Ophelia

Edit: Man, do I sound insane or what? It all makes perfect sense in my brain though, and I guess that is what counts. jk I am just starting to get IC for the game. Yeah that's it....I swear it really is.

I'm inclined to be fairly unswavering on my source material decision. Perhaps, however, another wyrmling would be suitable? Something from the MM or Draconomicon?

'Corwyn' wrote:

So far we've been going with the standard 4d6 method. However, if that's not working out for you, 30 point buy would be acceptable, as well.

No, Bob, they wouldn't, because the Siren PrC I was aiming for requires a sonic, mind affecting ability, and I can't think of any other dragons with one, unless there's one in the Draconomicon (which I don't have).

Besides, I doubt there are many other dragons that you can do the 'hyperactive, bouncy wyrmling' schtick with (ground movement 60', no fly speed).

Look, I'll send it to you, and feel free to knock it back anyway. If you do, though, I won't be interested in playing.

That is rather unfortunate, because I didn't list Savage Species as one of the available sources, either. While I appreciate that you only have one possible character concept in mind, and seem to have a tendency to pull character shenanigans on forum DMs here, I'm still going to need to shoot down your idea.

Either one is fine, although everybody else has been PMing me.

Mostly this and this. Although you didn't whine when Primus shot you down, and joyblood seemed okay with your proposition. Given your request for this game, it appears to set a precedent for how you seem to be interested in building characters.

I did. It seemed a bit like a childish stunt to me when you made your claim that if I wouldn't let you play what you were asking for, you would just not play.

I've got my character sussed out. He's a prime who has spent a little time of the planes (having fallen through a portal and not being able to return to his home plane), and has spent most of his time in between working as a mercenary/guard. I'm just wondering whether any of the other PCs think that it's feasible that their characters might have met him - which basically depends on whether you've been doing similar work recently as well.
If so, PM me.

@Galzion: Has he spent much time in Sigil? Specifically in the Hive?

I have characters from PB, Galzion, and kolikeos, and a background from Ophelia (although she assures me the rest of the character is coming soon). Just to let you guys know where we are, in terms of being ready to start.

@Ophelia - probably not much. He arrived in the Great Bazaar, and a passing Sensate took pity on him (as well as met a new race). So most of his experience of Sigil is around the Festhall, and although he might have been hired to go into the Hive, as a bodyguard for example, that isn't exactly conducive to meeting the locals.

Okay, now I have characters from everyone but Corwyn and BERK. I also haven't seen any posts here by you two in a bit... are you still with us?

Regarding faction powers, for the most part I'll consider those granted by the faction feats.

Not particularly. I think everybody's used a slightly different format Laughing out loud
And feel free, everyone, to use this thread for plotting with each other. If you guys feel like any pre-game plotting.

Well, we're not doing anything overtly illegal...unless leading a swarm of rats inthe the Lady's Ward would be considered illegal...

but you might want to watch the idea of "hunting down" other members of the party...doesn't make for a good adventuring dynamic, ne?

Bob, you dont have any problem with my weapons, do you? They arn't in any books, but I calculated their prices using the SRD, using SRD and Planewalker spells.

I have everybody's character sheets. I'm still looking to get a background from one player, so I have an idea of how to work him in, but other than that we're ready. Consider, perhaps, that you have a day or two longer for interplayer plotting before the game. Plotting may certainly continue between you all after the game starts, however.

Alright, I've been waiting for the proverbial inspiration bubble to pop so I can get the inspiration for character history and such done, but it looks as if that's simply not happending untill I get a better handle on the character. Puzzled

So the short on Sirrus is that he's a hound archon that went rogue (Chaos/Law scale) after becoming entranced with a Tulani Eladrin (who obviously didn't return the sentiment) that died the true death during a tanarri raid on Arborea a hundred-something years ago. In an effort to get in touch with her spirit, the still very smitten Sirrus has turned to the Transcendant Order. The hound archon hopes to come in contact with the spirit (or whatevers leftover) by sifting her voice out of the cadence. A ridiculous and ageless task sure, but he's a paramortal with all of eternity to attempt it. Sirrus is currently bar hopping all over Sigils districts, hoping the cadence will tell him where next to go.

And oh yeah, he's a dancer. Cool

Hello. I am new to this Campaign Setting and, unfortunately, it is hard to find a D&D group. So, can I play with you? I just need some directives to make my character and some references for reading. I would like to play for fun and experience. I have good experience with D&D and can adapt my character to the needs of the group.
Thank you.

I'm feeling a bit full for this game, now. I think there are at least two other people on the boards looking for a game, though, so if you three band together, maybe you can make something happen. I decided to start a game because it was in demand. Hopefully if there's more demand, someone else will offer, too.

I'm sorry to say, I don't think I'll be able to run this game anymore. My life has been getting busier as of late, and I also seem to be running out of steam for where to take the game. I'm sorry to disappoint.
