Spam bots?

Seems like a lot of bots are joining the site but not posting for some reason?

Re: Spam bots?

It's cause there's not yet a good software for keeping them from joining... but there's plenty of good ones to keep them from posting. Smiling

While recaptcha can keep bots out - many of the spam accounts are turk driven. Mollum however does content analysis - keeping even the turks out.

Re: Spam bots?

thanks Clueless! I've seen one board (Cafe de Nuit) as you to spell a name backward, don't know if that would help or if the bots are even a big problem.

Turks are people driven unfortunately - you can't trick them out of signing up so easily. (A turk is - for example - a person paid pennys per acount via Amazon's Turk service, to sign up and post spam. In general working from an area of the world where a penny goes a long long way making it worth it to try.)
