Some pics for the near future....

In about a little under a week I will have some good illustrations (well, I guess you all can judge for yourselves) of a tiefer, a quasit and a visilight. Got them scanned into the computor, just am having trouble sizing them down enough without ruining the images to post them yet.

Sounds good. I'm going to be trying to get from moogle001 (Current head of the PSCS work) an idea of all the pictures we still need fulfilled. I'm pretty sure we won't have trouble filling some of the needs, but others are just going to be Hard to get.

I've started work on racial line-ups for 'Races' chapter (similar to the layout being used in the PHB and Forgotten Realms CS Books).

So far I've done one image containing a Aasimar, Bariaur, Githyanki, Shad, Chaond, and a Bladeling. Unfortunately though, I'm still without a scanner, so I don't know when I'll be able to get it on my computer for inking and uploading. Hopefully I'll be able to get it up soon and get started on a second.

I have a question, what if you guys get more than one submission for the same thing, what happens then?

Generally we go with the best one, and see if we can use the other one someplace else.

In some cases we have to go with the first one we get due to time issues. In which case, we use the one that came last again for something else.

I've added a whole bunch of tasks to this particular project. Ideally an artist with the urge to work on something should be able to just browse through the tasks and claim one to do - uploading their file with it when they're done without having to wait forever for me or moogle to get to them. Smiling

This may be a lame question, but how do you sign up for tasks? I would like to contribute any way I can, and the best way for me is through art.

If you go to http://setting.planewalker.com

Login (or be logged in from the forums - it's all the same).

You should be able to find the project listed under Art (as opposed to some of hte other catagories of projects we have). Click on the name in the project display and it will take you to the info on the project and all the tasks for the project. (For less searching: /setting/viewProject.php?intProjectID=8.

I think I'll add code to the project creation that will automatically post up a sticky thread in the forum of where to get to the project. *nods to self* That should be useful.

You *should* see options to upload a general file to the project from there. Also you'll see the tasks listed, with buttons for claiming it. Once you claim a task you'll also be automatically made a member of the team for that project.

Let me know if you don't see any of the above - b/c that means I have some permissions wandering that need to be fixed.

I think Im going to do the faction symbols. I already have a drawn Minds Eye that just needs to be scanned and colored, and have a Sodkiller symbol in drawing.

Alrighty. And of course, take your time with them. Eye-wink There's no rush, so you have plenty of time to get them done right.

Um... question:

I was going through the list of faction symbols in Chapter 3, when I come across the Athar. The Symbol description diesnt fit the image That keeps popping up when I search for faction symbols. Did the Athar change their symbol after the Faction War? Or is the symbol ' the spire with a black torus, in abstract!"

Hm. Let me find out for you! They may *have* changed it considering the radical change in their location.

Now... I have a question. How many Tanar'ri am I supposed to do, and from what books are they included in?

Right now I have a Succubus, a quasit, a Merilith, a Babau, a Dretch, and a Bebilith (in addition to my tiefer w/quasit and visilight). Do you just want the Tanar'ri from the 3.x Monster Manuals and possibly the Fiend Folio? Or would you like me to go back in time to 1st edition?

I don't have the 2nd edition Monsterous Compendium, but I do have the 1st edition Monster Manuals. But if need be I bet I could find the 2nd edition Monsterous Compendium. Just let me know either way.

Bebelith aren't actually tanarri - though they are very cool in their own right. Eye-wink

Let's see what my 2nd Ed MC here says:
Alu-fiend
Babau
Balor
Bar-lgura
Cambion
Chasme
Dretch
Glabrezu
Hezrou
Manes
Marilith
Molydeus
Nabassu
Nalfeshnee
Rutterkin
Succubus
Vrock
Wastrilith
That's everything the MC lists under tanarri (Lesser, greater, true, and guardian etc varients) As always - take your time and don't worry about it too much. It's not like there's a massive looming deadline. I'd rather you took the time and made something that was visually stunning than rush through it all in an effort to win a race. Eye-wink

Can I see an example of trying to link to it? It's very possible that yahoo simply won't allow 'hotlinking' (linking to an image from someplace off the yahoo site). Hotlinking has a tendancy to drain a site of resources and bandwidth so a lot of places forbid it.

Since this project has a actual project to it in the http://setting.planewalker.com page (a link to the specific project is at the top of this thread) - you can also just directly upload the file to planewalker's space to be viewed.

There is the tried but failed to link link.
Here is the URL: http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/heatherravensflight/detail?.dir=mail&.dnm=...

Ok. I see what's going on. It's *not* going to work that way. That link isn't a link to an image - it's a link to an actual *page*. Hang tight with me as I go into cyber-geek-dom

http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/heatherravensflight/detail?.dir=mail&.dnm=...

Note the end of this address: "detail?.dir=mail&.dnm=a974re2.jpg&.src=ph"
That's telling the yahoo system to generate an image and display it in the context of their page.

Don't use [img] to link to the image. Use [url].

Thank you! Thank you!

Lets try this out now.

Here is a tiefer with a Quasit:

Check it out and tell me what you all think, good, bad, indifferent.

Oh.... bugger.

Ophelia? I know the Visilight is already up on the site, but more on that later... When I click on th link to veiw the Quasit-teifer pic, it says I dont have the proper access.

Maybe you should try Photobucket.com instead. That seems to work for me anyway. Just a thought.

As for the Visilight, I like what I see. However, there are two things that leap to mind.

The face seems to fit too naturally on the body for one to realize its a mask, unless you know what your looking at. So, for the face- stop drawing to so well! Smiling

The glow doesnt seem to be quite as apperant, maybe lowering the glow so it seems to halo the side of the head as well? But thats just me.

Give those two a try, and I think you will have a great Visilight. You may want to color it, but I think with this picture that's optional.

I could probably do some modrons with MS Paint. Don't know if it'll be up to you folks' standards, though.

EDIT: I've made a monodrone picture, though I'm not sure how to submit it.

Ok, I got an account with photobucket.com and have linked the Tiefer and Quasit to that site. Tell me if the link works or not... but it should.
