Sigil: City of Doors - NWN2 Persistent World - Questionairre

Hi. I'm Loki/Agony_Aunt, i've been involved in modding for NWN2 for many years and for the last several years have been an active modder for the SCoD NWN2 PW.

I'd like to ask some questions of the community here regarding the SCoD NWN2 server (assuming this sort of thing isn't against forum policy here).

Every year our player base shrinks a little more, some people cite NWN2 being an old game, others move onto other things, some move to other servers, or for other reasons. But it seems to me a community like this one with a deep interest in planescape may be a good community to discuss this with, and make a little advertising in the bargain.

So first off, just a little info for those who don't know, Sigil: City of Doors is an online persistent world for Neverwinter Nights 2 which has been running for quite a few years now. We advertise it as a RP server, but there is also plenty of opportunity to grind there as well.

We are currently engaging with our player base trying to identify areas which we could improve on to attract more players or keep those we have.

On to the questions.

1) Were you aware of our server?

2) Do you play NWN2 either online or offline? Either currently or did so in the past.

3) Have you ever visited SCoD?

4) If No, any reason why not?

5) If Yes, what did you think of it? What did you like/dislike about it?

6) Anything else relevant?

If you could take the time to answer these questions your feedback would be highly appreciated.

1) I think I had heard of it mentioned before somewhere, but never pursued it because

2) I never bought a copy of NWN2, so I never played it and never would have had a chance to check the server out.

The rest of the questions don't apply.

Wow, Agony. I came here to see if I could make mention of SCoD and you beat me to it (Mabus). Though I think I *may* have mentioned it far in the past...not sure. Though that may be where Wicke heard of it. Could be wrong though.

But while I'm here, I will answer your questionnaire. Smiling

1) Were you aware of our server?
Indeed!

2) Do you play NWN2 either online or offline? Either currently or did so in the past.
I do.

3) Have you ever visited SCoD?
I have...and do!

4) If No, any reason why not?
N/A

5) If Yes, what did you think of it? What did you like/dislike about it?
LIKE: The engagement of the DMs in the both the world itself and the lives of the PCs therein, the depth of the world and planes, the excellent roleplay of the community itself, the amount of customization brought to the world...all is excellent! DISLIKE: There is always room for growth in any world. I can't say there is anything I DISlike about SCoD currently, save for the fact that it can always use more players. So hopefully we can bring in some diehard Planewalkers to our world to explore and interact with. Smiling

6) Anything else relevant?
Keep up the good work!

Hehe, well, yes, of course a link, especially these days since gamespy went down.

Forums here: http://forum.nwn2planescape.com/

NWN2 direct connect from the game client: scod.game-server.cc

(Note: Since bioware secure login went down you can create your own ID with whatever you want (password is ignored), after timeout from the game client - which you can remove by an edit to your hosts file, details on our forums - you can connect using direct connect. We have our own server side security to protect people's accounts).

Also take note, you do need to have NWN2 and both expansions to play.

If you do connect, would love to hear your feedback.

And Hi Mabus (Spinagon)!
