IN the Book of Exalted Deeds, there's a feat called Sacred Healing...does anyone else find that a little unbalanced? I've been thinking making a limit of 3x a day to stop that in my game, but has anyone else looked into it?
Sacred Healing?
Tangentially...never heard that word before...I like it though
But as for Sacred healing, not sure if I have a different edition but I cant see that feat in the BoED...not mine anyway :s
IIRC, Sacred Healing requires turn attempts to activate. So it's already fairly limited - 3+Cha modifier uses per day max, and less often if the skeletons swarm you.
Want to limit Sacred Healing more? Send more undead after the party.
The feat could be in the Compelte Divine...but here's a scenario for you.
1 level cleric to get turn undead, then bard all the way. For every feat, choose "Extra Turning" (+4 turn attempts per day) and what do you end up with? A character with a HUGE charisma that can heal over 400 hp and can't turn undead for crap.
But that character got killed of (luckily) but the player rebuilt one with sacred healing, this time making it a Mystic Theruge.
They don't have any other clerics in the party, and no one else wants to play one...so that's who they're stuck with...but meh, I just don't want them to rely so much on one feat.
I know it's supposed to be balanced, like the normal ammount of turning, but this is one of those feats that SHOULD have definately had a 3x/day thing.
Eh...I don't know. There are a number of feats that use turning attempts, and I don't know that this one sounds any more unbalanced than any of the others. Sure, it can be exploited; so can a lot of other feats if you really try to min-max.
Keep in mind if you choose "Extra Turning" for every feat after Sacred Healing, you're giving up all other possible feats. Sure, you've got a character who can heal a lot of damage...but who can't do much of anything else! Doesn't sound like a very interesting character to me, and probably not one who's going to live long anyway...
We're playing the "Tales from the INfinite Staircase" adventure series, and he played with the temple of change...suffice to say, he ended up as an evil gnome and tried to kill the rest of the party
Oh, is Sacred Healing the one where you burn a turn attempt to give everyone fast healing? That one is neat (and yeah, in CD). A guy I play with in the RPGA has it, and it seems pretty useful. He's a paladin, though, and I don't think he tried to get his Sacred Healing to the MAXX0R (TM).
Pants of the North!
It heals 3 hp per round for everyone within 60 feet - friend and foe alike. It might well mean the difference between life and death for a PC - but it might save a deadly enemy just as easily.
I'm only tangentially familiar with BoED. What, generally, does the feat do?
