RPGA stuuf, get in!

Hey, are any of you guys in the RPGA as GMs, alot of you should really consider, you would make awsome GMs if you used planewalker stuff, there is also alot of cool benifits.

To my knowledge we can't just randomly insert Planewalker (or any non-WotC) material into RPGA games. It's not that I don't want to, just that there are rules I'm supposed to follow.

Dat suckith. Hoooowever. There are plenty of Game days and other such events out there. How many folks would be interested in running Planewalker modules for the un-initiated masses at these sorts of events? (I'm thinking specifically things like EN Gamedays, etc.)

I personally refuse to have anything to do with the RPGA, and would quit Planewalker and withdraw every submission I'd ever made if the two organizations got together. The RPGA's work with Living Greyhawk has left me extraordinarily unimpressed, and I'm terrified that any RPGA-sponsored efforts with Planescape would receive a similar treatment. My $0.02.

We're not going to ever been in the RPGA so that's really not a worry at *all*. I was more curious how many folks here we can get started converting the ignorant masses at conventions. (Planescape - the Other Game. Eye-wink )

I know im kindof a beginner, butt I have been working on a campaign with planescape in the RPGA, and as long as its not inappropriate, I could put the planescape themes (sigil and otherwise) into it, so maybe i could
"convert the masses" as you say.

As far as the RPGA and Planescape "merging", it won't happen, besides im only harald level and can only do so much, and if you guys really want planescape to expand, "converting the masses" could help. Oh, and the comment about Greyhawk, that is just a campaign run by the RPGA, you don't need to even look to those "campaigns" unless you choose to play them(as in at your private, home games). I m more of a forgotten realms guy, so greyhawks not my thing.
Oh, and as i said before, i would be glad to "convert the masses" when i GM.
The RPGA is not evil! (they only look it! Eye-wink )

Living Greyhawk is 'just' a campaign that functions as the RPGA's flagship product, picks up most of their player base and GM writing, is incredibly visible at conventions, and is a hideous, hideous travesty in my opinion. Demonstrate that the folks who put Circle of Death spells into Level 1 modules or write plotlines for the Nyrond region won't be causing problems for Planescape, and I'll stop worrying about them.

I never said the RPGA was evil. Only dumb. Extraordinarily, extraordinarily dumb.

Fair enough, truly you guys don't have to like it, not forcing it on you.

Well, blackthornes, you can certainly evangelize the RPGA community with Planescape with or without an official adventure. If you have some good ideas for them, all the better. I wish you luck. I don't expect anything official to come of it because PS is no longer supported officially by WotC.

However, the best way to start "converting the ignorant masses" is to not call them that. Planescape already has an "elitist froo-froo" image problem. Let's not make it worse.

I suggest that humbly introducing a few PS or planar elements into existing games will whet people's tongues far better than a complete PS adventure. A good example is the Shackled City adventure path that came out in Dungeon, which had planar adventuring but only in small doses. It's a good introduction. A lot of people don't like PS as a whole, but do like certain parts of it. It is those people you should be targetting. Don't get discouraged (but get a spellchecker). Eye-wink

Cheers, and welcome to our little community.

Acutally, that is not a bad idea, I have been thinking, In Baldur's Gate two, shadows of Alm, there is a quest were you are asked to save a man that belongs to a group of actors who ended up being planars from Sigil, so seeing that, i might run some PS in the legacy of the green regent play,
It should work, hopefully.

I'm not elitist, I'm in-character as a Cager.
...
That was believable, right?

I'm not in the RPGA. I don't own the RPGA. I'm also not the owner of PS rights. Why are you asking *me*??? *baffled look*

I *will* say that Planewalker is probably not going to join the RPGA anytime soon - it's not really what we *do* - but the RPGA is certainly at their own choice if they want to incorporate Planescape elements. It really is a completely different organization from us.
