an RPG Virgin...

hey bashers, here's the dark of it; I first got into the D&D world via Baldur's Gate, but my imagination came to be fired by the Planescape: Torment CRPG which came out a few years later, and hence what brings me here!

I've never made a pen & paper character but I do have a few of the sourcebooks/planewalker manuals. I was just wondering if any of the more perspicacious cutters (possibly redundant?) wouldn't mind helping me in some way? I don't know what's an acceptable level to start at, and nor am I that familiar with the 3rd edition rules (even less, unfortunately, than 2nd edition rules). I understand there are no limitations regarding my character race/class?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! when I get my character out of my head and into a Burg (maybe the Cage?) I'll be sure to buy some bub for my benefactor Sticking out tongue

If this is the wrong forum to post such requests forgive me! I only joined today...

I'd suggest starting out with the 3.5 player's handbook if you can pick it up or....*coughcough download it on pdf coughcough*

It does a really good job of walking you through the process. Most of the Planescape races/species can be found in various books like the Monster Manual, Planar Handbook, Book of Vile Darkness, Book of Exalted Deeds and so on.

There's a few websites that have some 3.5 conversions of 2nd Ed. monsters, but I don't know them well and...end up asking here myself.

If you're still lost after looking through the Players Handbook, definately post back with your specific questions and we should be happy to help Smiling

If I inadvertently posted a link to an online resource would I be hideously murdered?

If so delete the post

Here are all of the v3.5 main books online...I use them as a resource so I dont have to cart heavy books around

Message a GM.

BarkingWilder: The SRD is perfectly legal. Now, if you'd linked to a book download site, on the other hand...
