Just an update: I've got a much more "fleshed out" concept sheet in the works (written from my char's perspective), which I'll get to you (via PM, I suppose) as soon as it's done.

I think I'm going to have

I think I'm going to have to back out of this... I haven't been feeling well over the past few day, and if that weren't enough, I've hit a that terrible wall known as writer's block.

Sorry for holding things up. Good luck shiido, et al.

Ugh... Planescape

Ugh... Planescape deficiency.... uh... can't hold on... gotta have a hit...   I don't suppose a small time vigilante character that just hunts thugs in the hive and makes a living off selling off their loot would work?

No, almost definitely not.

No, almost definitely not. There is no motivation to play lower planar politics, and no compeling reason a guy like that would join the party. (or be accepted). You really do have to play evil evil at this point.

(edit: or else you don't have the needed (extensive) baatezu ties to get you involved. You don't even want to consider 'Loth ties Smiling)

Are there even any campaigns

Are there even any campaigns a non-evil character would fit in on here?

You could also run a game

You could also run a game here if it suited you. Alternatively, (though admittedly off-site) you could go to myth-weavers, GitP, or ENworld and try to find a GM or group. Especialy on mythweavers, which is dedicated to play-by-post it's easy to find a DM or willing group.

ENWorld is bloated and

ENWorld is bloated and buggy, and no one there seems interested in Planescape.  I can find tons of regular D&D games anywhere I look.  I'm in two of them right now, assuming the DM of one actually gets it started and the DM of the other one doesn't get bored with the once a week posting and quit.

I've never heard of myth-weavers or GitP.

I know that.  I was in one, but then you stopped updating it. Undecided

http://www.myth-weavers.com

http://www.myth-weavers.com

It's a dedicated PbB roleplaying website. If you post in the players seeking GMs thread you most definitely will find someone who wants to run a planescape game and a full group.

Giant in the Playground is the home of Order of the Stick (which should be mandatory reading for anyone who plays D&D) and a lot of games.

As for ENworld, I highly doubt it. Post a looking for group advertisement, you probably will get something.

All told I think Myth-Weavers is the best site by far, and your best bet for finding a strong group.

I was in a Planescape game

I was in a Planescape game on ENWorld.  One.  It was a pretty cool one too.  Then the DM said he'd be busy and have to slow down the game a bit.  He never posted again.

I have posted on ENWorld in that looking for game thread multiple times.  In fact it used to be the only site I used until I found a bunch of others that ran better and didn't have that stupid "Grandma Rule".  Overall, ENWorld isn't terrible or anything, but there are allot of sites that are allot better for pbp.

I'll try out those others though, thanks.Laughing

I don't really like Order of the Stick.  It's a little too accurate to my least favorite aspects of D&D.

Hm, it doesn't seem to be working.  I actually found a bunch of things that lots of people want to play and no one wants to run.

Such is life, I guess.

Such is life, I guess. Determination has paid off for me. Bear in mind though that Planewalker has the grandma rule too--don't go around calling it stupid.

I wouldn't show my grandma

I wouldn't show my grandma Mythweavers, ENworld, GitP, etc. either. The PG 13 rule is pretty common.

Exactly, hence the grandma

Exactly, hence the grandma rule is dumb.  It doesn't make any sense and is pointless.  Saying PG-13 is fine, but saying "Don't post anything you wouldn't want your grandma to see." is just non-sensical.

It's meant to be funny, not

It's meant to be funny, not to be taken literaly. When they say PG-13 do you think they put the specific guidelines and precedents set by variousrating agencies up and then force people to conform exactly to them? Most definitely not.

I don't find it funny, I

I don't find it funny, I find it worrying, because it means that you basically just have to hope that whatever you post won't cross any of the various invisible lines set up by the various forum authorities like some kind of spy movie laser grid.

That's always the case,

That's always the case, unfortunately, the best a board can do is to give general guidelines and hope the mods have common sense. Almost all do.
