Reasoning with a Slaad Excerpt

As much as I'm against many of the changes they did with Slaad in 4e they have an amusing entry for a skill challenge in that book about Limbo, Abyss and Inner Planes (aka the Elemental Chaos, with the Plane Below). It's for dice rolling associated with roleplaying a situation where you reason with a Slaad.

As it's an excerpt about a skill challenge it's something that I feel could also be easily used in 3e/Pathfinder as well, since Skill Challenges were more or less introduced to 3e back in Unearthed Arcana as "Complex Skill Checks".

Perhaps the best part is what happens when you fail the skill challenge which has a random result that includes, "Slaad's head explodes and the rest of it walks away".

This excerpt surprised me, as it was amusing and really showed the Slaad as creature more closely aligned with chaos. I am looking forward to this book as well as Plane Above.

Yeah, and apparently Ygorl the Slaad Lord will be making an appearance in the Plane Below book as well, and also the White Slaad. As for the chart, I wonder if we could make a similar chart for the reactions of NPC Chaosmen...?
