Published/unpublished articles

I haven't been here in a while but today I tried to link one of the things I wrote here to a friend - but he only got an Access Denied page. Turns out I can only see it when I'm logged in under the account that the article belongs to. (Affected like this: /050707/visions-out-time and /050708/of-fear)

For some reason those two are simultaneously listed as 'published' and 'unpublished'. Is that intentional or a problem with the system?

That... would be a problem.

Though when I look at them, in both cases I see them listed as Not Published - so that would actually be expected behavior.

If you can screen shot for me where you see them listed as Published? That might give me an idea how to untangle this for you.

Is this ok or do you need the full screenshots?

And I have found no button or control that says 'publish' or something like that.

Hm... that tells me

Hm... that tells me according to the workflow module it Is published.... ok - yeah, somewhere the two modules aren't agreeing on things. I shall poke it with a stick and see if I can get it to resolve itself.

ahh! I figured it out. Ok -

ahh! I figured it out.
Ok - here's how it went down:

We have two modules that handle our articles, the node module which handles the article content itself, including hte published/unpublished flag. And the workflow module which is the submission system.

The node module was saying it wasn't published yet (turns out it was the right one)
And the workflow module was saying it was.

Why? Because it was an imported story from when we imported stories from the old system. It was in progress then, not yet published - so the node module was told "not published".

Meanwhile, when the workflow module was put in later - *it* made the assumption that any node that wasn't sent through it's system must have already been published.

Hence - the conflicting information.

I've pushed your two articles through along with a handful that I *know* were ready to go. And I'll be setting up the proper settings for the rest of them here with a script. Eye-wink
