I think a lot of sci-fi tropes, especially utopia/dystopia considerations/permutations would actually be enacted in Planescape.

I think a lot of our modern entertainment concepts, including/especially television, would be reproduced in Sigil via magic akin to recorder stones. Of course "Reality TV" would range from inter-exemplar dating to harrowing dives into the Abyss or Inner Planes.

Being an accomplished illusionist is less useful for conflicts in a Multiverse where lots of beings are immune to your effects. Seems to me that would lead to a growth in the "VR" industry as well.

Of course, the popularity of these things might vary as well. If you have a chance to be part of an observer determined reality the entertainment provided by the Scifi/Fantasy genre may not hold as much appeal to you.

At the same time, I could see soap operas and the like commanding the peoples' attention, and groups like the Incantifiers would probably want to talk about the "Future Benefits of Magic" in the way Cosmos is currently trying to get people interested in the benefits of scientific exploration.
