Hello!
I experienced something odd earlier when I wanted to change my time zone setting. My actual name I signed up with was "Da'Hak" however when I entered my profile and changed my time zone setting it suddenly changed to the name you see now .. which is merely "Da".
I tried logging out and logging back in, but now I even have to use the "Da" to login, so my guess is that it's permanent?
I was wondering if this can be changed to something less .. odd, short, meaningless?

I think it did it to a few others with apostrophes in the names. I noticed it with two of the PW Idol contestants. It was working and then all of a sudden it chopped the name at the apostrophe. I kept forgetting to log it here in the bugs area.
Never the less it still proves to be an annoyance to me. I'm not sure what I should do ..
Wait for an answer or just be silly and make an entire new account? The latter seems a tad over the top though. :shock:

Give me a few days before I take a look at this - I have a very very large 'to do' list and hte vast majority of it right now is 'shoulda been done yesterday'. But I'll see if I can't track down where this was caused - otherwise if someone wiht DB access (*cough* Eric) would go in and change the profile name back that would work for a temp. fix. 
Ok. Name has been corrected back to previous name.
Also - the code that caused the issue with the name getting changed should be fixed now.

Scream for me if you notice anything wierd with profiles - I've had mine go 'wonky' a half dozen times lately. I'm stillt rying to figure out what triggers it though.
I noticed the same thing when signing on a while ago, and I've seen it before. Some forum codes can't digest apostrophes or other nonstandard symbols in headers or names, and automatically cut them (and anything that follows) out. Other forums cannot handle them at all.

Fortunately none of those are frequently needed here. Planescape discussions can be weird enough without adding extra letters.
