Prestige Classes? Where?

I remember you guys mentioned that there was going to be Faction-specific Prestige Classes in the PSCS. However, there doesn't appear to be any room in the book as its set up on the site.

Where are you guys planning on putting them?

There are some on the main site. See /ps3e/prclass.php.

No, I don't mean the unofficial stuff.

I mean that the folks in charge of the official book mentioned that there would be faction-based PrCs in it, but there doesn't seem to be anywhere to put them.

I'm guessing they'll be inserted into Chapter 4, since that is were the Faction descriptions are.

The classes are taking editting to try and work in in a sensible fashion. Plus we *will* be using the Krigstanz stuff so if you're looking for official stuff (.... cooooool we're 'official'...Eye-wink ) that's good for it. Smiling They've been pretty well playtested over the years.

I just thought I'd mention this; WoTC apparently has some "official" Planescape Faction PrC's already- I'm not saying that you have to use them, just mentioning that they exist. For the curious, the PrCs and their locations are:

Planar Handbook:
Defiant (Athar)
Doomlord (Doomguard)
Fatemaker (Fated)
Ardent Dilettante (Society of Sensation)
Cipher Adept (Transcendant Order)
Chaotician (Xaositects)

Complete Warrior:
Justicair (Mercykillers)

Dragon #315:
Harmonium Peacekeeper (Harmonium)
Anarchomancer (Revolutionary League)

Dragon #339:
The Incantifer (Incanterium)
Son of Mercy (Mercykillers)

Dragon #339 also has a cluster of Planescape-related feats and magic items- if anyone wants I can gladly transcribe them (that's my lingo for "copy from the book and post it online").

We can't republish existing works, guys - we're not under WotC here - we're just a fan page. Sad

But while I get the set I'm working on taken care of - have you noticed this in our downloads section? Fractious Factions - Christopher Campbell was kind enough to release to us the factions that Dragon didn't publish.

And how glad I am for it, because with my wicked tongue about their efforts, I would have been kicked off for sure.

Would prestige classes be the way to go for faction benefits, though? Some defy any set rules.

The faction feats here are probably more useful than the PRCs. If you wanted to, you could use a bloodline-like system to handle adding faction feats and bonuses at different levels without tying PCs into the same faction class.

There's a couple of options. Most obvious is feats and prestige classes. You can also use belief points. Or the allegiance system, or bloodlines.

Can anyone else not get on to Kriegstanz right now? Did the site go down?

Epp! It's down for me too - never fear - I have a copy of all the PrClasses and permissions to reprint in the PSCS from way on back, so they aren't lost. I just got the files back from their mechanical review so they'll be updated shortly with the classes.

Sweet. I`ve been waiting for a while to see the mechanics behind the PrC that Fyrehowl took (that was one of Kierg`s I believe).

Any chance we can get those prestige classes posted here?...I've got a character with one of the kriegstanz.com PrCs but foolishly failed to print it out, relying on the now defunct website...Also, have you (Clueless) updated them for 3.5?...

*points at announcement re: Chapters 3 and 4*
They're in there - the kriegstanz ones are virtually identical to the ones on their site, just formatted a touch. They've undergone enough playtesting that I honestly didn't see any need to further modify them.

re: modifying for 3.5 - to be honest, I don't have a 3.5 book so I'd be guessing at the rules for that. If there are specific 3.5 rules that seem relevant to include - let me know via the feedback page and they'll make their way in.
