I've had a couple of folks say in email or otherwise to me that they're having trouble posting. I need to get some information about this from those who are seeing it so I can figure out what's causing it:
1) What are the steos you are taking to have this happen?
2) Is ti repeatable?
3) Are there any error messages?
It lets me compose the message, but not submit it.
I haven't yet gotten it to not repeat there. It happens every time I try to post there.
When I hit submit, I get this message:
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to
use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Update: closed my browser, tried again, got the message again.
Exact same problem here. RPG Discussion board (the Becoming a Fiend thread for me). Logging out, then in again, doesn't fix it. I can post on the Civic Festhall board, though.
Edit: Vaevictis was actually able to post to the same thread while I was trying to get mine to stick, so I'm guessing it's a bug that affects some users but not others.
It seems to work now.
Edit: That's weird. All the posts I just made to that thread are gone, now. Good thing I saved them.
And now I'm getting the error message again! Aaargh!
Ok - this is Utterly. BIZZARE. I *saw* your posts - and I'm not able to find them in the database at all now.
I can't even look at the individual forums now except by following one of the links from the main Planewalker.com page. If I click on "RPG Discussion" or "Bug Reports" it sends me back to the general forum page.
That looking at things should be fixed now - I've been tweaking code trying to fix stuff for the last hour or so. 
Ok. I suspect I see part of what's going on right now. I recently changed the MOTD to reflect the troubles we've been having - and now it's switched back. I don't think this is actually a code problem - I suspect something's up with the mysql database at this point. I'm checking with our host to find out what on Earth could cause this behavior.
This is a test post to try to provoke the effect.
Ok - more information on this. I have located two coredump files from about 4 oclock last night. That would wead me to think that something was broke with the database at that time and hence - the lost posts as the database essentially reset itself to a few hours back. As for what caused the core to dump - not a *clue* on that.
For the error for accessing the editPost page - also not a clue (I'm thinking yesterday was just cursed). I'm hoping that error is not ongoing.... though I suspect if it is you'll send an email shortly about it.

As Zim said I was able to reply until 5 minutes ago, and then that went kablooie just like editing.
EDIT: I wonder if I can edit posts on this part of the forum, since it's letting me reply. Of course, if the error is only in one subforum then it makes even less sense.

EDIT 2: Yep. That's really really weird. Still doesn't work in the Civic Festhall, but it works here.

Zim and I are blocked in the Festhall, but both of us were trying to post in a thread there when the error appeared.
Do you think that each of us is only blocked somehow from the thread we were visiting during the core dump? Or any thread from which one of our posts was deleted by the dump?
I tried to repost my earlier posts. It still doesn't work for me, unfortunately. Same problem as before.
I couldn't answer in any of the Topics and couldn't even write PMs. I get that error message everywhere. Well, perhaps it will work with a new account.
But I still cannot reply to the Tanzu thread in the Civic Festhall, and I can't edit my existing posts there either. Same error that I quoted above.

Hm. Ok- a bit of a test to get an idea of what's going on for you - when you look at the thread to pick the post to edit do you have 'forums.planewalker.com' up in the URL - or 'www.planewalker.com/forums' in the URL? Hypothetically either of those should work - so I'm curious to see if that makes a difference in your case.
I just refreshed the forwarding from forums.planewalker.com/ to www.planewalker.com/forums/ so it's worth seeing if that fixed it.
The error message you are getting is from the server itself. It's an error that happens before you guys even hit any of the code I have. And the code I have is the only point at which which thread you were in starts mattering. The edit page is the same page for all threads - the only difference is the associated posts when you actually use it. There's no sensical reason for the post or subforum to be related to the error. *headscratching*

Ok - I got some feedback from our hosts, and added a change to an .htaccess page. Rip - let me know if that worked?
The new 403 error is my latest update to gather as much as I can about it.
The problem is gone for me now. I can reply and edit in the Festhall.

Sorry about that guys, apparently our server had some updates to deal with swarms of hackers and they set the servers to 'super-duper paranoid' setting. Good for most sites, not so good for us. 
It seems to work fine, now.
I can post in that forum now. Yay.
