Possible lagging?

Sometimes when I open the index or forums main page I get some funky stuff. For one, I can go hours since my last visit and the index page says I'm logged in since the last time I submitted or edited stuff... A similar situation arises on the forums where I'll find that the forums have been inactive for long stretches at a time untile the site decides to update itself.

Is this a feature of the ISP, a programming issue, or just some random glitch?

When did this start happening?

Probably for the last few days now. It's a bit of a random thing.

We've been adjusting some of the login code over the last couple of days so that may be what you're seeing.

Planewalker itself - if you login on the webpage will keep you logged in till you hit logout or close the browser. So if you'd left your browser up... you'll still be logged in. The same applies to the forum if you login without asking it to remember you.

Also, as of lately - if you login to the forums and hit the 'remember me' button when you do - yer perma logged in to both sides. We're trying to merge the logging abilities on both side - so that you only have to log in to one side to get them other and back and forth.

What do you mean by that? There *are* slow periods during the day when no one posts - that's just the pattern of posting amongst our users...

There's been one incident where the content didn't show any new messages being posted. However, as someone else was logged in at the time, I traced their last post and found that indeed, in the 2 hours or more that I had been away from my computer, a message had been posted.

Sounds like a cookie/sessions hiccup. Not what it's *supposed* to do - but sometimes it does happen.
