Possible Article: Aoskar

What do we want to get out of an article on Aoskar?

- Overview of how Aoskar died
- How Aoskar's identity as a dead god is important to the flavour of Planescape
- Brief information on the Shattered Temple and the Athar
- What is Aoskar's cult doing now
- Potential methods of resurrecting Aoskar
- Aoskar's domains / home plane / favoured weapon / etc, to play clerics or other followers in a game where he is not dead

Re: Possible Article: Aoskar

What you have looks good to me. Possible additions:

Guide to Sigil mentions that his blood is rumored to be a universal portal key. If a vial of it was ever found it would be highly sought after.

I think the Shattered Temple is an interesting location, and perhaps his last breath still echoes there, much to the consternation of the Athar. Some of them even converted to his now dead faith.

One might also mention some stuff about his corpse as an adventure location.

There's also the question of what exactly happened to him, and how the Lady was able to kill him. Was it a direct strike or did Aoskar die indirectly when the Lady's destruction of the Shattered Temple resulted in the decline of his faith?

So went back to the old PS books. Seems like Aoskar was killed instantly, and some authors say he was booted out of Sigil? Seems strange that he was even allowed in the Cage at all...

Re: Possible Article: Aoskar

Apparently Fell remains a proxy of Aoskar - now that is interesting.

I would love to see more about the god's ritual practices and tenets of his faith. He must have had quite a marketing plan to make the dabus believe...

Faction War says that the area around the Shattered Temple is among the few places ghosts can arise:

"This area now and again has found itself haunted by spirits of the angry dead. Ghosts and hauntings rarely pose a problem in Sigil and on the Outer Plans, but here, long-dead memories of the past remain strong enough to conjure up poltergeists, apparitions, and other spectral vapors. These forces cause fear among the residents and sometimes real damage to local buildings. 'Course the Athar won't let an outside priest near the area to exorcise the spooks. Their own priests of the Great Unknown can handle it just fine, they say."
