Planescape Tourment

I can't seem to find it but I know a long while back I got a link to download the Planescape Tourment strategy guide. Also is there a search feature somewhere for the forums I couldn't seem to find that either.

Anyway thanks in advance I am finally getting around to playing a video by all accounts I've heard is a great video game.

That should help, I think. PS:T is nothing short of genius, even if the graphics are a bit... outdated.

It's quite possibly the best CRPG ever made, if not the best computer game in general. Sam and Max: Hit the Road is a close second though.

I use the game guide at Gamebanshee, my wife and I are both going through Planescape: Torment again right now! I also know that Adam Miller (Popular NWN mod maker) loaded it up recently to play through. I guess people are just tired of all the new computer games that rely on flashy graphics instead of substance.

The search feature is currently being worked on (it broke bad earlier this year).

I think its safe to say that Black Isle can could be counted on to come up with some killer stories. Not sure what everyone else thinks, but PS:T is certainly the most emotive of the games with perfectly chosen characters and a soundtrack which catches the mood so so well. I like that its quite an open ended game which can be completed anyway you wish (good vs evil).

I have to say though, the Baldurs Gate games were the work of genius which started it off. I feel like a heretic for mentioning FR on a PS site but ive just finished playing through BG1 so leave me alone Sticking out tongue

Never quite got into Icewind Dale though...always felt a bit let down after PS:T and BG

BG II is even better than 1.
The expansion, Throne of Bhaal, is more a straightforward quest-completion game, but what Shadows of Amn lacks in storytelling and mood(compared to Torment, anyway; it's certainly second to none other) it more than makes up for in variety and sheer coolness of the villain.

Agreed, should have made it more clear that when I talk about BG I mean the trilogy. Wasnt there word of a sequel to PS:T? Or did they come to their senses and realise a sequel would wreck it?

No more likely it was because the company went under which is why BG and Tourment aren't in the $10.00 or $5.00 classic games pile. Because no one or whoever has the rights to them doesn't care to publish them and make a little extra cash on them.

There was a project called Planescape:Vengeance. It used all the same programs as torment, and was designed to be a 'mod'/sequel. It was about a man who is the last surviving member of a group of mages that managed to make themselves live forever (I think they became some sort of undead, but not a lich or vampire. eh.) Anyway, the rest of the mages are dead (live forever doesn't mean you can die, just not from natural causes). Everything he knew and loved was either killed or lost to time.

Now, I can't remember off hand if TNO killed the other shadowmages, or a loved one, or what. However, the main character is hunting down TNO to kill him once and for all. The ironic thing is, PS:V takes place a fey years after PS:T, with TNO off... wherever he is, and his former party members scattered to the wind.

Unfortunetly, they suffered a major crash not too long ago, and lost two years worth of stuff, so they still have to get back on their feet.

For any Neverwinter Nights people out there. This weeked I'm hosting a Sigil mod using the tilesets, placeables and creatures created by the now defunt City of Doors Initiative! It also uses the Planescape: Torment soundtrack, so the music is great.

It's not a real adventure in that there is no quests or storyline, just a bunch of neat Planescape goodies. But It's a great way to relive the old Torment days!
