Was looking at that link to the sketch book and I very much doubt someone is going to pay 1500+ for it...Which got me to thinking so I had a look at the bid history and all the names have "a****r" or something similar...now Im wondering is the numbers/letters are blocked for privacy due to it being a high bidding item or has the seller created multiple accounts to up the bid on his own item? thoughts?

Well, the prize was already pretty high, so chances are it weren't a dummy. Hell, if I ever get to make that much money I'll end up buying things like that on ebay every week. Better than collecting stamps at least.
Actually I think its an Ebay policy that once an auction goes above a certain level they hide the users so they don't get bothered by spammers.
If you look at the feedback on those people they are all pretty high and perfect feedback so my guess is they are real bids.
