Planescape: The Planeswalker (Skyrim Mod)

(Not sure were to post this, would liked to have placed it as a subject in Planewalker Projects but can’t so placed it under RPG Discussion instead).

I called it Planeswalker instead of Planewalker as it sounds better with Planescape (hope that makes sense).

I recently got Planescape from GOG and I love it. I am new the whole Planescape side of things and know very little about the DnD game world (In South Africa we don’t have Comic-Con or DnD board games or anything nerdy here, I am so deprived). However I have played and own Baldurs Gate 1 – all to Nwn2. So know about the Planes from them, but no were near extensively as I should to create a mod based on it but am learning as much as I can before Skyrims release date.

I plan to create a mod that will see the player jumping through portals to different realms. I know this doesn’t fit into the Elder Scrolls Lore but I like the idea of endless possibilities. I plan to make this an open source mod, meaning anyone can contribute anything they wish into this mod. Allowing users to create their own addons/plugins into existing mod locations in they chose to, I can then incorporate them into the main mod if they wish or they could remain stand alone addons.

This mod could act as a link between other mods, doing the same as Yossarian22's GTS - Global Travel System for FO3 (disappeared) and allowing new locations to be integrated into the game such Fallout 3 - Project Brazil for example (of course not the FO3 mods mentioned). This mod could go on to include other game worlds other than Skyrim and Planescape, like other locations of Tamriel, Forgotten Realms Faerun and many DnD world locations, just to name a few that players wish to add into the game.

I am a Graphic Designer so am currently creating an Comic/Graphic Novel story board of the Skyrim hero finding out about these Portals to different dimensions and then going through a few of them. This is to help me plan the story/mods progression. I will upload it here or a link to it if I don’t get shot down with this idea… once I complete it...

So what do you think of my plan?
Are you keen to join or contribute?
Know anything about Modding?

Most importantly can you help me out with the story, the reason for Portal hopping?
Also should I create Sigil first, seems to be mission impossible for 3D gaming world (I would break it into sections if I had to create it) or should just create pocket realms to start off with?

This sounds like an awesome idea!
I've been keen to expand my skillset (and of course showreel) into non-humanoid creatures and am planning on making whatever D&D creatures that take my fancy and putting them into Skyrim. Something like this would give me an easy way to implement it into the game, portals to very simple dungeons that gets to the meat of my work without being too hackneyed.

This does sound great, but I'd likely have to get a new comp to run Skyrim. Smiling

I can't add much in the way of assistance, but I doubt you'll hear many objections to the idea on this sight. We are always excited to see something new done with Planescape, especially by fans who will treat the material well. I wasn't really planning on getting Skyrim, but if this mod does come out I may have to buy it just so I can experience what you've done.
