Planes Adventures/Modules

Greetings All,
I am interested in taking my PCs to the planes. I have the 2ed boxed sets but these have fairly high level adventures. I am looking for lower level adventures. I thought planewalker would be a great place to search but my search skills do not seem on par at all.
Any adventure suggestions ?
My PCs are primes and at least one is deathly afraid of portals of any kind.
I'd also like to hear how some DM's have gotten their primes into the planes (I have the Well of Worlds 1st level adventure ready to go but the one PC keeps giving my the laugh).
Thanks

Part of the reason you're not finding any modules is because we actually (unfortunately) don't have any. We're working on fixing that Smiling

You may want to check out Kyto's Hooks for some basic module ideas, most of which are adapatable to lower level: /hooks/index.php

And under the PSCS section of these forums we're working on putting together some fully detailed modules for play.

Thanks.
I just devoured those. Some very good work.
What adventures are recommended for green primes. It seems that most work out there is for planar or planewalking characters. I know that the clueless are beneath most characters, but you need to start somewhere.

Green primes, cutter players? Or green primes, green players?

Don't you mean "canny players"? Cutter is a noun.

I'm currently working on two Planescape modules I plan to submit here. They're not finished so they won't be much help to you at all, but the first one is designed with introducing new characters to the planes in mind, so I'll summarize it. Maybe it can help.

The players find a magic brass doorknob. Identify spells reveal that when the doorknob is attached to a non-magic wooden door (requires at least ten minutes and necessary tools), it converts the door into a Planar Portal (so long as the door is in an area where planeshifting is possible) that leads to a magic shop that sits inside of a demiplane and specializes in Planar gear. This idea (or something similar) might be a good 'launching pad' to start up a low level Planescape campaign.

As for the second module... It's a low-level Planescape one, which seems to be what you're looking for, but it's no where near done yet and I don't know if it will be in time for it to be of any use to you.

Sorry if this doesn't help.

green primes, Green players, and an only slightly less green DM.

Hippo: The module sounds pretty cool. I'd be happy to help playtest when the time comes.

I like the idea of the magic doorknob, especially if it keeps taking them places randomly, and drops them in as many dangerous places as it does nice ones. It would make a good "get out of jail free card" for PCs in a poke, but they'd never be certain if the place they'd end up was better than the situation they were in...

You'd have to be good at winging it or keep some preprepared locations ('Thor's kitchen', 'on a magic cloud high above Bytopia', 'Shemeska the Marauder's bedroom' etc) handy though.

The module I'm currently working on also has some fairly standard sample hooks for new primers, which I'll paraphrase below. They can be used for individual PCs or a whole party.

* The Primer stumbled through a portal by accident and arrived in the house or shop of a local resident.

* The Primer was a henchman to a more powerful adventurer who was scribed into the Dead Book while visiting Sigil. The PC is now stuck.

* The Primer has no idea how he got here! His amnesia may be total (he has no idea who he is or where he’s from at all) or merely stretch for several days/weeks/months. Options include waking up in a gutter surrounded by Cranium Rats, or being shaken awake by a bartender in the Civic Festhall, who says "I think you've had enough styx-water lad. Time you went home."

* The primer ‘died’ while on the Prime Material Plane, but mysteriously awoke on a slab in the mortuary (familiar to Torment players). This could be easily modified to be part of the excellent Eternal Boundry published adventure, which I seem to remember was fine for Clueless.

* The primer was a very rich noble dilletente (or the servant of one), and has travelled to the Planes via the Astral Projection spell, but become seperated from the group.

Hope these help - do let us all know what you come up as well.
