Paizo's version of PlaneScape versus the PSCS

How does the Dragon/Dungeon magazine potrayal of 3rd edition PlaneScape impact the PSCS's portrayal of the setting? I am currently assuming that they are either mutually exclusive or that the articles are official while the PSCS is unofficial or some combination of the two, though I am still unsure exactly. What are your thoughts on this?

ref/drag287 - presents some pre-FW factions as a unique prestige class each, a web enhancement detailing the rest can be found here: http://planehopping.tripod.com/index.html

ref/drag315 - presents items, PrCs, and NPCs to accompany certain surviving post-FW factions and is independent of and unrelated to #287

ref/drag339 - (don't currently have access to) sequal/continuation to #315 article detailing rest of surviving factions and likely also unrelated to #287

Clearly we are more awesome than this alleged "dragon" magazine.

Although, really, I view Planescape as being very inclusive. Even two things that directly contradict each other can be used, because maybe one, neither, or both are true.

I'm curious - mostly b/c i don't have those mags - what in their work conflicts with ours that you've noticed? (I'll add that to the chapter 9 section for the PSCS if you have anything specific for me Smiling )

Hm... *mental note* I'll have to see if I can pick those up sometime then. I don't think much of what they'll have is going to heavily conflict with what we've worked up ourselves, but it's worth checking.

Dragon mags have always had an off-on relationship with canon, for example the Dragon advetures took out the githyanki queen (which we're going with), but most of WotC's own books don't seem to strongly acknowledge it.

Those all just sound like extra options to dump into a game. I hope nobody thinks that the PW feats are the only way to represent faction membership.

Especially considering that Christopher Campbell's name can be found on certain parts of the PSCS as it is... Eye-wink planehopping is his site. Smiling
