Outlands Question

Just because I haven't seen it in writing yet: Does The Outlands have a sun? Is there a sun that rises and sets, or does it just have day-and-night cycles like Sigil does? I had a thought: If the sun was even a small degree off centre, the spire would have and infinitely long shadow...trippy.

I know the Outlands has no sun. In fact, to my knowledge, the Beastlands is the only plane that has a sun or moon. I'm no cannon expert, though.

At least the first level of the Abyss has a sun. According to descriptions, it's a red giant.

Outlands Question

The answer to "Is there a Sun in the Outlands?" is both simple and complex: No there is not, unless the local Powers want there to be. The Outlands have no sun, but it's a safe bet that Thoth's estate has a sun, as does Tir Na Og. The Gate-Towns don't have a sun, but if the plane they face has one, they might. Perhaps a spree of sunny days in, say, Plague-Mort, might be a sign of an impending border-shift.

Some realms or gate-towns might also have a moon as well. It is said that from Torch, one can see the mounts of Gehenna as triangular moons in the sky.

Monut celestia 1st layer Lunia, for example is bathed in silver light of multiple moons (layer is in perpetual night/twighlight), 2nd layer (Solania) is iluminated by perpetual noon sunshine, but I dont remember if there are actualy visible suns. Also I have forgot what kind of ilumination is on another layers. Puzzled

The layers of mount Celestia are lit by the gleaming skies themselves, not by any celestial body. The exception to this being Lunia, the first layer, lit by many stars, but no moon.

Arcadia could be considered to have a sun, being the orb of night and day. And probably some other layers in the Abyss have suns.

But what about Arborea and Elysium? any sun or moon there? I recall something about some sun god crossing Elysium by Oceanus and acting as a sun (Ra from Arcadia?)but can't figure it out..

I'm quite sure Mercuria has at least one sun.
In one adventure o f Planescape (on planes of law I think) I remember of a solar from Chronias that has the duty of keeping Mercuria's suns in their orbits.

Thanks. I remember it because of the solar from the 7th layer of Celestia. Something very impressive.

Arborea should have the son and the moon. It is the home of the Greeks gods so probably Elios and Selene have their charriots and do their works. Sehanine is a goddes of the moon too, and in the elven legends it is said that Lolth treachery was discovered when the moon was high, or something like that.
