Folks - if you haven't checked it lately - you'll notice a huge change in the webpage - the new site is up! Go take a look!
NEW SITE!!
Looks good, Clueless! Nice work integrating all those databases together. I did notice some funky SQL queries diving into random portals, but nothing serious. Probably a stray rogue modron somewhere.
If you need help running any sections, lemme know. I'm familiar with dynamic webpages and all that. I know from experience that you must have put in a lot of work to get all that stuff together in a common look-n-feel.
Good luck.
Let me know which pages - I thought I'd managed to hunt all of those down in portals - I hate showing the underside of a site that way
Congratulations on the new site layout!
Thanks
yes, great job on the site. much much much easier to navigate.
the seminar went well too (despite getting lost in the wrong room) good job ya'll... (now if shemi will just finish that last section)
I must say bravo, but is there any way to put a direct link to these boards on the main page?
There's a link in the community -> forums section. You would like one directly from the planewalker section?
that would be nice. community-fourms is how i get here, but i can see why you don't want to clutter pages with direct links everywhere. i only cared because this is where i go most.
Hmmm - compromise? I'll include a few handy links at the bottom of hte front page for you - we'll see how well folks like that.
Thank you.
wow! this is awesome! congrats clue!
I love it! Especially the Random Quotes (and look forward to submitting a few)
Just had a wander around the re-designed web site - it looks fantastic. Job well done!
The only improvement that I could think of was to add details about the planescape mailing list that WotC runs to the Community -> Mailing lists section.
I'm looking forward to the updates. Keep the site alive and Planescape stays alive
Simson
I actualyl didn't know anything about that mailing list - got details?
Sure, here is a URL with details for the list:
http://oracle.wizards.com/archives/planescape-l.html
It's not a very active mailing list any more but there are the some interesting discussions from time to time.
Wow I go to Alabama to do some work for 2.5 months and the whole damn site changes!! For the better I might I add I really do like the format and everything that way it is setup. If I have some suggestions later on layout or where to put things where should I put them Bugs? Email them to someone?
Again the site looks awesome just a few minor tweaks I saw and maybe more personal preferance on my part than anything. I hope with my new job I will actually get home most nights to my apartment so I can become a regular again. (well at least no matter what I will now have my weekends at home up north.)
I dunno...Barkin likes it...but im a traditionalist. This is excellent, the last one was atmospheric but the Original (pre-hiatus) was genius.
Admittedly this one is easier for newbies to navigate and I congratulate the makers on that I love the little quotes...although some of them can be a little cheesy and some just make no sense :s If I find the time in moments of serenity I might submit. Overall though, a good change

I think my biggest issue and this is a small one that may go away once more content is added. Is that the sidebars have links in no real order on the "inside pages" while there is no real content (none at all actually) on the main pages. Seems like they might be able to do away with the sidebars and just make links in the "main page" of each section once you link off from the index. It would look cleaner and then they could put any future content behind links from the sections once you link away from the index.
....
Huh?
Lost me there.
Sorry what I mean is for example when you link to Offical products you have a short paragraph in the main section. While all of the "products" are in links on the sidebars. It seems to be that you could put those links in the main page rather than the sidebar on the left...
I mean of course unless you plan to have some sort of regularly rotating content on the main section. But being this is a work of love rather than profit it seems like updates might be slow enough to justify just having the links and descritions there and getting rid of the left sidebar.
I don't know I guess just a matter of style looking at the site again it looks pretty good (once you get past the first page with little content).
So maybe it just doesn't look right because it's not done. hmm
Actually the difference is that the site isn't hard coded html. The entire thing is dynamicly generated out of a database (Which does make updates easier to do) But doing it that way also means there's a certain need to be 'standard' in how sections are handled. The segmenting works well for what we're looking to do. With the DB style of updating things should be a lot easier to update - now the 'slow' spot in the pipeline of updating the site will be content.
Gotcha well if I run into anything else i will let you know. But again I think the site over looks great I just like to pop in suggestions for changes (even when things look great) because while hey cool this site looks great makes every web designer feel cool it doesn't really help to improve the site as much.
CONGRATS!!!
I have to congratulate you on the new site, Clueless. Ofcourse the other members of the PW-team too...
It looks very nice, less dark and gives the site as a whole a fresh look.
Just two questions:
* will the PW boards also be changed into this new house-style?
* is this fresh and recent addition to the look and feel of the PW site a silent indication of a publishing of new PS3E material...? *wink*
Greetz,
DaL
PS: Clueless, I see you got the font right....
