New Guy says Hello, speaks heresy

Hi, You can call me Wretch.

Discovered this site. I love Planescape, mostly for the art, SIGIL, and some of the ideas (philosophers with clubs indeed!) Tieflings and the Lady of Pain are pretty cool too.

BUT (wait for it)

I am not too wed to the D&D system (particularly after they scuttled Spelljammer AND Planescape :x ). GURPS is one game of choice (when I want to bother with mechanics at all).

So, one sourcebook for GURPS is GURPS Cabal. Has anyone seen it? If so, does it not seem less...bulky then the Great Ring with similar iconic ideas behind it. Any thoughts?

Well belive it or not we are not so enamored of 3rd ed and esp 3.5. Though the setting is what we like and I can't speak for all but I like the great wheel cosmology. I do also like gurps and do have cabal.

Someone was trying to set up a GURPS Planescape play-by-post game here not too long ago, I think.

*nod* While the site will continue to support 3 and 3.5 because - let's face it - that's what a LOT of people play. There's no reason the setting can't be converted. I've got plenty of GURPS books on my shelf too. Eye-wink Thogh not Cabal actually - I tend to buy books based on one of two rules:

1) Am I playing in a game that needs it?
2) Will I be running a game that needs it?

If the answer to both is no - I don't buy it. That way I can still pay rent. Eye-wink
