I once blurted out mid-game (and mid DM-sip of her drink) "Holy Breasts of Sharess!". The screen narrowly avoided a drenching.

It's been a while, but you can't ever have enough cant! I'm looking now for words meaning...

* Food (I'm fond of the "bub'n'grub" combo to describe an inn with eating facility)
* Adventuring gear; specific names for specific items would be great
* Adventurers in general
* Roads
* Taverns/pubs
* Bar brawls

You know, terms to describe a party's everyday existence...

I have, on occasion, used 'Great sodding molydeus tits!'. For expressing surprise with a bit of vulgarity, I'm fond of 'Well f- an eladrin Sensate!'

Adventuring gear?
spear = Pointy Stick
sword = Pointy Stick
dagger = Pointy Stick
dart = Pointy Stick
arrow = Flying Pointy Stick
caltrop = Lots of Pointy Sticks

... for the particularly dim kaasta barbarian.

I prefer the classic "spoonbender" myself.

Request: How about some cantisms for different planar races? Like the commonly used 'zerai and 'yanki, but for the planetouched, bladelings, khaasta, exemplars...

(and somewhat less obvious than my example, preferably)

Spiked gauntlets: Bladeling gloves
Spiked plate mail: Hamatula-suit

It should be noted that a lot of the races these items get their names from (especially the Baatezu) don't particularly appreciate these bits of cant.

Githzerai: Zerth-monkeys

This one is sure to start a fight. Sometimes, even a basher who has some githzerai friends will take offense and assault people who use the term.

Bariaur: Spider. Sigilian rhyming cant: Horse and Rider=Spider.

Bariaur tend not to like this term. Also, I think I used the 'formula' for rhyming slang wrong, but I like it anyway.

All the different cultures in Sigil probably have their own little spins too.

I find a dash of Clockwork Orang slang works very nicely for Githyanki.

Factions almost certainly have their own spins. Ciphers probably have their own ways of referring to things that non-members don't deal with, Anarchists can have their crazy code phrases, and I can easily see the Harmoinium using something like Newspeak.

a Cager might say "Lady's Blades!" or just "'Blades!". Or instead of "Goddammit!", "Flay it!".

Personally, I like "Lady's bladed teats!". Has a ring to it, and Morte used it. A "Bleed it!" or "Aw, bleedin' 'ELL!" I like, too. "BLEK!" works, too, for obvious reasons. Anything involving "Airhead" or "Air dancer" should get the air(or mist, or stuff like that) genasi really ticked off at ya. "Hey, ringwalker." Anyone who gets what you're saying will KILL you. "Greenshirt" or "Greenskirt" would both insult average people and prostitues who consider themselves a cut above the norm. "Bloodsk/hirt" would work in certain situations, too. "Dreamer" would at the least annoy any genasi(or other elemental creature) who's proud of his heritage, but if you're on the outers, just using the term might get the neighborhood on your case. Nearly ANYTHING from Voila!'s dictionary can be used to piss people off right proper.

One more, inspired by the master flying skull, Morte(gonna have to play through Torment again, just to find the choiciest of these.):
"Oi, tiefer! How're the ticks?" For tiefers with fur.

Just thought of a nice one a few days ago meself (yay having a working Internet connection again!):

Bell-ringer -- an archer or some other long-range artillery support; from "bells and whistles" = "missiles"

I think "bellboy" might work better, as "bell-ringer" has a pretty strong connotation towards Autochon himself.

But if nobody likes Autochon, it's like a double-insult.
