My library

So I've been posting around here and there about the need for me to clean my office (and thus sell some of my author's/office copies of my Planescape projects), and I realized I had totally neglected to tell people on Planewalker, the very people who might appreciate these things best.

Sheesh. Nice going, McComb.

If anyone is interested in picking up some of the books and boxes that have been filling my bookshelves, I've got some Ebay auctions going right now:

The Ebay store!

Right now I've put up:

  • Planes of Conflict
  • Hellbound: The Blood War
  • Faces of Evil: The Fiends
  • The Player's Primer to the Outlands.

I'll be adding

  • On Hallowed Ground

  • The Planewalker's Handbook

  • Dana Knutson's original Planescape concept art sketchbook,

... and some of my other campaign material (Ravenloft, Dragonlance, and
Birthright) soon, along with with some rather used 1st Ed classic
modules and the Cthulhu Deities & Demigods and Fiend Folio.

As Monte Cook did when he auctioned his stuff, I'd be happy to
personalize any of the stuff I wrote for the winning bidder; unlike
Barry Bonds, I don't charge for that.

We now return to our regularly scheduled programming, and I'm back to writing about daemons for Paizo.

epp! Sketchbook!! I wish wish wish I could afford such a thing.

The last one went for thousands earlier this year. :-/  I wasn't able to get a scan of the insides to even know what's on the inside of it.

I'm sure whoever picks that one up will enjoy :)

It's 32 pages long, purely black and white, of course. I've heard so many different numbers as to how many were made, I'm not sure which is true. Though I'd like to clear up the biggest misconception about this thing.... The sketch book is *not* Tony DiTerlizzi's art. A lot of people seem to froth over it because they think it's a huge book of T.D.'s stuff. :} Here's a couple of pages so that you can have a peek. Sorry about the scans. I'll do some better ones some day.

Also, here's what it says on the first page:

"In the beginning, I must say that the world of Planescape didn't really intrigue me or my partner Robh Ruppel. My boss Tom Lavely put a lot of trust in me to conceptualize the new world along with game designers Zeb Cook and Dori Jean Hein. So, with a lot of help and encouragement from Zeb, Dori, and Robh, I dove into it. All of us worked well together and the end result, I feel was an exciting, spiky bumpy world which caught the interest of management and the enthusiasm of the entire TSR staff."
-Dana M. Knutson

Then throughout the book are the sketches, accompanied by Dana Knutson's explanations and insight into their importance. It's very neat to see how the whole thing came together. I only wish the book was longer.
