To fit into the modern planes all factions have to change to some extend (at least superficially). This should also be the case with their names, we could alter them a bit, so that they sound a bit more "modern". What do you think?

I don't think so. I think that most of them would work fine as it is, with a few modifications to their structure. Some of the more organized factions might incorporate themselves, for example.
