Memorize Spell [Metamagic]
Some sorcerers have learned to take some spells as their wizardly cousins do, and memorize them out of a book.
Prerequisites: Arcane Preparation
Benefit: You may memorize spells from a spell book as a wizard, if they are not part of your spell list, preparing them just as you would spells using Arcane Preparation. Spells prepared in this manner use a slot 2 levels higher than normal. Spells that are known as part of your normal spell list (either bard or sorcerer) are unaffected by this feat.
I'm posting this here because I'd like to hear some feedback on if this feat is balanced in your opinions. Also if you don't think it is worded well or needs changes please post your ideas.
The idea is to allow sorc and bards to use spells that they sometimes have a need for but don't want to put on their normal spell list while still not infringing too much on the wizard's territory.
This is also posted in rpg but on second thought I think it could work here too.
Are there any Spellcraft or skill checks involved? Wizards have a Spellcraft check for preparing spells from someone else's spellbook. I would think something similar would apply here.
As for balance, it seems ok on the surface. I'll have to think about it some more.
