Is there some kind of DM-killing epidemic going around? Where is everybody? Starting about two weeks ago, Nordom, Primus, Eluvan, and Username all got themselves mazed or something, which is rather bothersome since they're all DMing campaigns in which I play.

Every single campaign on this board is dying. Won't someone get back on that DMing horse?

It is more then a little distressing, perhaps a Free form game would ease people into it? At least it would be something that wouldn't be dependant on one poster.

It's not even the players. I have three campaigns on the PW forums that are just waiting for a DM to respond. And I know of another that is in the same situation. And then I have an outside-of-PW-yet-still-online Planescape campaign that hasn't seen its DM in weeks, due to his inexplicable disappearance.

It's not that the games aren't seeing posters... it's that our GM's apparently got ate over the holidays. *musing* Free form games seem to suffer from lack of plots from what I've seen (which is what a GM is needed for). I've yet to get into a fully free form game that didn't die because of that.

I would have to agree. I know that I wouldn't mind joining in on one... Eye-wink.

:Primus grumbles grumbily:

Back you bleedin' boxes! Back! Winter break has ended and the new semester has started. I'm not sure what this means to my posting as I suddenly have more free time than I did during the break, but I also have a girlfriend who demands attention. I'll post later, I have classes at 10:40.

Actually, that's not too bad an idea Cool. I was thinking of starting somewhere on one of the less-civilised planes.

What do you think, Alhesander? Are you in? Eye-wink

I'll have a 1st post up this afternoon. It's freeform so I figure we and whomever else gets involved will just wing it from there

Of course Center, but I won't be able to post until this evening, so who ever wants to make the scene go ahead.

Really? I mean I have never done a forum based game with a DM... I mean I have been involved in three different sites and never had any issue with a free form thread dying because of a lack of plot ideas... I mean of course these sites the posters would chat a little with each other outside of the thread to come up with major plot points often. But even when planning didn't happen they seemed to go well for the most part. The biggest issue in thread killing always seemed to be one (or more) posters posting some long elbarote post then disapearing for 3-4 days a few times over the course of like 4-5 weeks and the thread slowly gets checked less often because characters are "frozen".

Anyway I have been pondering getting back into forum based RPGing and maybe now would be a good time to get a nice free form (or multiple) thread(s) started?

Go for it Smiling I think there's a few folks already ready to do something. And yeah - it might have been the people I was playing with or something - but we could not get something *going*. Ever.
