Why does it take so long to load the Planewalker forums and/or website?

What's your connection speed look like? If you're still on plain dialup it can take time to get it all to you. I've been working my way through the system lately trimming things here and there to cut down on that.
There are only a few pages where SQL queries are complicated enough to cause lag (and those are mostly deep in the submission system where most users expect to get a little bit of lag).

I have a 400+ Cable connection. Not sure of the exact number because Adelphia just upped it.

Cable? Hm. That's unusual to see that much lag on a cable line. There might be something holding the data up along the way between servers but it'd be right wierd to do so.

I rarely have problems with lag here on PW (except whent he site is down). Now WotC... that's a whole 'nother story.

I haven't noticed any lag time here. Yeah, the Wizards boards can drag, but not these.

I haven't noticed any lag times.
But then, I've designed my own browser and I have a very unique connection which lessens the impact of such network problems anyway.
Considering that all the content is run off a huge database, lag would probably be due to some SQL issue.
Then again, I haven't really noticed anything.
