Will get to these as time goes on, just jotting notes based on past discussion:
I. Far Realms as Primordial Sea (Loki's Planejammer campaign)
A. Multiverses float within Far Realms
B. Are Multiverses the aberrations rising from the more natural Far Realms?
II. Multiple Far Realms as aberrant filled demiplanes in the Etheral. No actual vast reality.
III. Far Realms is but one dimension of the Higher (or at least Farther) Realities
A. See Mercurial's Forest of Thought in Doors to the Unknownn, Pathfinder First World description in Land o' 1000 Screams, Realm of Vestiges from Tome of Magic (3.5e)
B. Alan Moore's incorporation of Old Ones into his "Blazing World", a Platonic realm of imagination.
IV. Far Realms is hungry, devouring reality.
A. All consuming Lovecraft version.
B. Corrupted Prime <- Have to find post where this is mentioned for proper citation.
V. Far Realms is how we perceive higher reality, which in truth transcends opposites.
A. Joseph Campbell -> Higher reality is where dualism is resolved.
B. Grant Morrison's Church of Archons -> "There is no war, there is only the dalang."
C. Alan Moore Neonomicon
VI. Far Realms is really some malevolent layer of the Abyss
A. Obyrith
B. Chaotic evil depictions in line with this theory.
One thing that'd likely be great is if people have other sources to cite as examples. I'll have to go through my old Dragons.
I suppose the Warp from Warhammer is sorta like a more personally malevolent Far Realms, as opposed to the impersonal (mindless?) horror of Azathoth and the like.
