Re: ISSUE 3 MASTER THREAD

On the subject of art - I think you guys should still have a monodrone from me somewhere? I could also give a planar druid and a Guvner a try. (With the Planar Druid I'd obviously go for a Mechanus one, but I'm not as sure on what to do with the Guvner, so I might need some one else to give me some ideas)

I still have the monodrone image, just need to dig it out of my inbox.

I think I had some notes on Issue 3, will see if they are still relevant.

Oh...haha, okey, no prob. I just thought maybe you guys lost the thing and I could have sent it again, but I guess messing up names is also a possibility.

Just want to say in my opinion once you hit 8-10 pages anything else is bonus.

I'd suggest making sure you hit that lower amount and then if need be save the articles beyond that if layout is taking too long.

What do you need for Axis beyond the picture? If we're going to be doing more than just one planar metropolis, we should probably come up with a template format that we could stick to for later cities. Plus it would give later people a chance to identify what needs to be explored/developed in designing a city.

Re: ISSUE 3 MASTER THREAD

So I just stopped in here to see what was happening on Issue 3, and perhaps I'm speaking out of turn here, but I feel like there's more that can be said about planar druids than two pages. I like the artwork Jenx did of a specifically Mechanus druid, and I think it should definitely go in this issue, but if we're going to talk about druids in Planescape I think we can propose answers to questions like:

1.) How is the druidic tradition kept coherent across the planes?
2.) How does traveling to various planes affect druids' abilities?
3.) What does a druid consider natural in planar environments?
4.) How does belief in reincarnation interact with druids' relations with petitioners and exemplars?

Some mechanics include the items listed above -- changes for a planar druid class, Pathfinder domains -- and also:

a.) planar "animal" companions and shapeshifting alterations
b.) incantations (I love these and feel they're very druidic)
c.) Druids and the Inner Planes (such primal places really ought to have some druidic connections, don't you think?)
d.) writeups of particular druid orders that players and GMs can use; perhaps one for each of the five possible alignments.

I think it could be a full issue, really. Too ambitious? What do people think?

Re: ISSUE 3 MASTER THREAD

I agree that druids could make their own issue, but I'm not certain that we want to dedicate an entire issue to it this early in the zine -- assuming it actually gets off the ground (which is, obviously, proving difficult). I would say that we present an general overview that's 2 or 3 pages, focus on how a druid that lives on a plane other than the Prime Material would have different definitions of "natural," and how these things - in a Planar scope - are all equally natural to each other, and then revisit it later with its own issue if it's appropriate at that time.

I am, of course, not necessarily RIGHT about how to do things. This is what I had in mind, and if we'd rather do something else we can, but I do still feel that the druid article has a place in a Mechanus issue, if only because Mechanus is the plane that - IMO - people have the greatest conceptual trouble connecting with druids. Which is super weird to me! Given that Druids and Inevitables kind of have similar goals in preserving the natural order and etc ?

Do you still need items, hooks etc. (and what would be the deadline)?

Re: ISSUE 3 MASTER THREAD

I have ACS 3 and some experience using Indesign for layouts. I'd be more than willing to help, but my work would probably be at an amateur level for some time since it's been a while. Gotta get experience somehow though, right? Laughing out loud

Re: ISSUE 3 MASTER THREAD

Actually, amateur is fine IMO as long it has basic image + text flow.

Mogget will probably be relieved as dude is swamped with real life. Smiling

Let me work with Anerta and figure out what goes where. I'm thinking we make the issue a bit shorter, maybe split it into two parts, but I don't want to step on her toes.
