Hi all,

As you may have seen in the Sensorium, I'm running a Planescape game (and yes I fully intend on starting the story, I'm just getting the writing of the first adventure done between writing the rest for play so apologies for the delay).

Anyway, the PCs end up helping to take a bar and kill the previous bartender. I'd like to place in a new one with a Planescape twist. Any ideas?

An ice mephit who serves everything really cold.

A satyr who hits on every customer with a charisma score higher than 10, male or female

A priest of Bacchas who is always drunk himself.

An out-of-work alchemist, who is always asking customers to try his newest mixed drink creations.

A Dustman with several animated zombie servers.

A Dustman and the previous barman, animated

A horde of Cour Eladrin

Xaosetics, who of course serve everyone a random drink

A Godsman who wants to become the demi-power of bartending

A party of adventurers, just "minding the bar" until their friend is ressurrected

A band of gnomes celebrating becoming monsters - absolutely no tieflings allowed!

A bunch of AWOL blood war fiends, looking to strike out on their own

Some form of Ooze that keeps trying to dispense bits of itself unless the customer is very specific about their drink.

A Rilmani who serves people exactly as much alcohol as they should have, no more, no less.

A contractually bound Marilith. You should see her make 3 martinis at once.

A hound archon who will serve anyone whatever they order, but makes them listen to various speeches on temperance and restraint.

A living construct that lives on Alcohol as a fuel.

A Cipher who doesn't even listen to orders, just serves drinks.

A Blood Magus, who's drinks are made from things best not mentioned.

A mutated Black Dragon that breathes booze rather than acid.

A bartender that's some unknown being, with a horrible number of swollen boils and other weird growths all over it's body. It serves drinks by popping one of it's boils.

Is it also a wise ass and a kleptomaniac? Sticking out tongue

A zern (Monster Manual IV) that derives alcohol from a variety of biologically engineered aberrations, including an arcanavore that distills alcohol from the magic it consumes. Incantifers are especially fond of this drink.

A kython (from the Book of Vile Darkness, not a kyton/chain devil) that uses a modified acid spitter and its own mucous sacs to create drinks, mostly for a fiendish and tiefling crowd.

A sibriex (Fiendish Codex I) that uses its black bile and demon-grafted cows to create potent fiendish milk-based drinks. This is sounding like a theme; maybe it should share the same bar as the kython.

Come to think of it, one of the illithids of Zoon from the Monster Manual V had a thing that made monsters from quintessence; it could be a bar tender too. I don't have that book yet, so no details for you.

What else? A Signer psion who makes drinks with her mind (as Astral constructs), a Believer of the Source who makes drinks from raw ether, an Athar who serves drinks in desecrated holy icons (here you go, one gin and tonic in the blaspheme-covered head of an icon of the blessed virgin Coatlicue), a Hardhead who will sell you drinks only between 8 hours after peak and antipeak, and not on any day that any religion he's aware of considers a day of rest, a Xaositect who will serve you shoes, declaring loudly that they are delicious eggs, a mind flayer who serves spinal fluid and Brain Daiquiri, a warden archon who serves the distilled joy of petitioners, an eladrin who serves alcohol that can make mortals fall into vivid dream-sleeps that last years or centuries or coffee that can make them stay awake for equally long, an Anarchist that puts subversive messages in the bottom of her beer mugs, a Sinker whose bar is slowly falling apart, who describes in detail the damage the alcohol is doing to your liver, and a Cipher who can serve drinks faster than you can blink.

Oh, how about a water elemental that lives in kegs of alcohol, and serves you parts of itself?

Or a golem that's an animate beer tap.

A ravid that infuses every drink with positive energy, and brings mugs and pint glasses to life to bring your drink to you.

A bloated ormyrr with ooze mephit servers, The ormyrr is deeply in bed with the criminal underworld, and pays protection money to Shemeshka the Marauder and reports to her on all activities she might find of interest.

A Xeg Ye and a Xag Ya, who hate each other and risk destorying the whole place every time they pass in the narrow space behind the bari

A rota system (i.e - 'all of the above') or better yet, a planar summoning spell that brings a random bartender from the above list and compels them to serve for a bit. Of course, any planar entering the bar is added to the list of potential 'bartenders...'

Oh yeah, and the construct's middle name should be 'Rodriguez'

A gnome monk with dreadlocks and goggles called Mop. He gleefuly removes unruly patrons with the his namesake too (his mop is actually an enchanted staff).

I actually played this character. He was actually a bartender too. He was surprisingly good considering he was a 3.5 monk/fighter/drunken master.

Wow! There are some pretty powerful bartenders here!

I'm honestly surprised the Union of Multiverse Mixers isn't a major contender on the great wheel!

I tried to come up with a better name but UMM...was the only thing I could think of.

Wow everyone seems to be enjoying this thread. Lot of good ideas here. Thanks!

I'll think about the choices here and let you know what I decide, I think it may be a merging of two ideas I've seen though.

I love the ooze ideas but ooze is already a big part of the campaign already. Guess I'll have to write the first adventure summary and let you know how it is going.
