In the vein of the pop culture post ...

In the vein of the pop culture post, I've had a character concept, and might flesh her out into a full-on sect/faction leader eventually. This is at least PG-13.

Name the biggest non-evangelistic, non-Power star on the Upper Planar networks in terms of viewership.

Yeah, that's right. It's Jezebel. It's a mystery to some cutters how a succubus has managed to become THE star of the Upper Planes. Talk Shows, celebrity dating shows, the occasional fundraiser or two... it's hard to not see her smiling face on the networks. I'll tell you: business sense. In her own way, she's like a Shemeska of the airwaves... buying, selling, and gathering and spreading rumors all with that trademark smile and kiss. Her skills are enough that producers have wondered why she asks for so much jink for some appearances, only to do others for practically nothing, and why she never seems to have any no matter how much she's made recently. My guess is about that entire 'costly one day, cheap the next' thing she does is that she donates most of it to various charities. It's gotta be the explanation.

How did she get her start, you ask?

Rumor has it, she got her start doing a radio show: The Lonely Succubus Relationship Help Hour somewhere on one of the innumerable Upper Planar public access channels. Her brand of tips, *ahem* tricks, and gossipy encouragement seems to have helped most who've bothered to listen in with their romances, so many are those who believe in her advice. Since then, she moved ever up the ladder of celebrity fame as more and more heard of this oddity of a succubus. Just as quickly, she's racked up enemies all over the Planes. Some are jealous of her celebrity; some are simply old enemies come back again.

Celestial networks truly aren't all that different from the Fiendish ones; Sex still sells (though it had better be moral, or else you're not gonna sell it to the producers) and sex and gossip is even better. Having sex, gossip, and celebrity in one show... that's the triumvirate they like to see. Jezzie's story and persona has all that, and it's a moral story to boot!

Character: Jezebel White

NG Succubus Charismatic Hero 5/Personality 10

Faction allegiances: Redeemed

Most of her appearances are mostly charity in reality, and she pumps the money into organizations like orphanages and into the Redeemed, and she shares allegiances with the faction, though isn't a member. The Redeemers probably wouldn't mind if she did openly join simply because her sway can be that strong. She is also far more intelligent about money than she appears, though she rarely spends what she earns on herself.

I was reluctant at first, but then I took a doubletake. I like her! She's the Upper Plane's outlet for sex and gossip (benevolent sex and gossip, of course), and I'm pretty sure they need it. It looks like she's got her claws into some niche, there.

That's kinda the point. I wanted to inject some levity into the upper planar networks. People were making them out to be sucky compared to the lower planar ones, I kinda realized that it didn't have to be the case. I also found the concept of a succubus being the biggest star on celestial networks rather amusing when I thought of her. A sort of planar Bono, if you will.

This is really good. This Jezebel is defintaly what I would think of as a Caregiver of the Redeemers faction. Keep up the good work!

OK... I've had some more ideas about Jezzie.

Unlike much of the rest of her history, her trail of relationships since she became known on Elysium is pretty easy to follow. She has a number of failed romances with celestial and mortal alike, though they usually end amicably. This clashes oddly with the image most unfamiliar with her would get; as many expect hosts of shows such as hers to have had fairly long relationships, and the rest would expect a succubus to leave a trail of heartbreak behind. However, it is more due because she tends to indulge her passions, if others aren't hurt, that she has so many ex-romances. (she still has remaining chaotic tendencies, though not nearly as strong as for many tanar'ri, Risen or not.)

Furthermore, while in public, she almost is always in the company of at least a few other people. Her publicist, her producers, a few bodyguards (1d4+1 female non-evil hero Tough characters of ECL 10), and whoever she's dating at the moment tend to be around her most of the time tend to be around her during major public appearances, and her publicist is almost always with her when on-set or when she's maintaining her business network. As a result, she can be hard to approach directly; her publicist is usually the easiest option used to ask for a favor from her, though other means are possible.

Should Jezebel be found in a private moment, PCs are likely to notice she tends to be quiet and highly evasive in conversation, and obviously rather shy. Her trademark mannerisms become more pronounced. Given some period of private conversation, she'll loosen up, becoming more willing to enter conversation or accede to some form of bargain for her help.

Her current 'flame' is an Efreeti known for his portrayal of a dashing firefighter on "Flames of Life", a drama set in the Lady's Ward of Sigil.

Her publicist is a human woman named Elizabeth Jones (NG with Lawful tendencies Human Smart Hero 7/Arcane Arranger 3) who helps Jezebel oversee her holdings, and generally seems to act as confidante/best friend. She is also something of a contrast to Jezebel in personality: whereas her friend is outgoing in public and deadly shy in private, she is the reverse.
