If I were a socialist what faction would I belong to?

The communals, and you'd be in a maze Sad
The lady wasn't big on them declaring that Sigil belonged to everyone.

Failing that, possibly the anarchists depending whose brand of socialism you follow, I can see lots of Che types hanging out with them. A splinter sect of the Harmonium could be possible but they're more communist than socialist because of their hierarchical structure, although that isn’t necessarily anti-socialist.

One faction that socialist philosophies might appeal to is, actually, the Guvners.

The Guvners, after all, see knowledge of the multiverse and its laws as the way to true power and enlightenment. And knowledge, or information, really is a place in which a lot of socialist "give all you have, take back only what you need" notions can actually work - because you can place a copy of everything you've ever known into the archives and lose nothing, memorize the contents of a library and still not deprive others of the chance to learn.

Now, bits of knowledge that have some arcane quality about them that prevents more than one person from knowing the fact at a single time, or even just mundane secrets that have power more because of the people who don't know it than the people who do, could turn this on its head of course. Cool

The Dustmen could also be a good chioce; achieving the True Death requires one to divorce one's self of passions/desires, leading one to lead a simpler life.

The Bleakers spend a lot of time tending to the needy; socialists could fit in there as well.

Absolutely. That's something you should keep in mind during your explorations of the planes.

Harmonium are also probably a good choice. Communism is quite orderly, and the idea is that promoting social order is good for all, which is a VERY Harmonium-friendly ideal.

Seconded. A point of view can be its own little reality.
